The Indiana Pacers announced Friday they have picked up the fourth-year option on Brandon Rush's contract.

Per club policy no details of the contract are released.

Rush, a third-year player out of Kansas, was drafted 13th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft.

In his three seasons with the Pacers, Rush has career averages of 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Or we want to keep him around because he knows the best dealers?

I misread it and thought Indy was getting some new live entertainment. :(

Great!

I suspect him to be working his tail off in practice and I expect him to take his place in the starting lineup back as soon as our 6th game.

This is not surprising at all...he's still on his rookie salary and he has value as a young player who is a decent shooter with good perimeter defense. We're talking only a couple million dollars people.

and i doubt he'll be back starting after 5 games. With how bad Dunleavy was and how good George looked (defensively of course, or at least comparatively good), I'd look for Paul to be starting before Rush.

A couple of million? I wish I could say that. I'm glad we're keeping Rush. I just thought management had given up on him. That's why I was surprised.

On thing that has never been suspect about Rush is his defense, which is good...now if he ever lives up to his offensive promise, we will definitely have a solid two-way keeper...the talent is there...and so far he's managed to earn his keep with his solid D....
