I've watched pretty much every game this season so far and I have to say Solomon Jones has no business being out on the court. That is the most frustrating thing about Jim O'Brien for me. Jones had 3 moving picks last night all during times when we had momentum and making a run. 3!!!!! It's such a buzzkill in the basketball sense. (And before last night) he played in 7 or our 8 games valuable minutes and totaled 6 rebounds. That is absolutely terrible and I can't stand him being out there.

Sorry for the rant there, but I can't express my frustration with how/why he plays.

The only reason I can think that this goon is playing over Foster is that Larry and Morway have told O'Brien to hold off on Foster playing until closer to the trade deadline. We all know Foster is old and probably will get worn down playing every game. The only speculation I have is that we start playing Foster mid December to show him off for playoff teams and trade him off while he is still healthy.

Thoughts on if that could be the case? Or is O'Brien just stupid?

A couple of those moving picks was because TJ Ford started moving before the pick was set. 60% of moving picks are because the ballhandler moves too early, and 40% are from the picksetter rolling/popping too early.

How do you explain the atrocious rebounding numbers. The guy is useless.

isn't the simpler explanation that he has recovered enough from his injury to dress as an emergency replacement but isn't yet healthy enough to be a rotation player? Solo did have a nice stretch in the first half last night though. looked like he still remembered enough of the Atlanta defense from his days there to know how to exploit it. I'm with you in hoping the old Jeff will return shortly even though I'll scream as always when he misses layup and put backs.

Let me just state that I think Solo isn't a good player for us. Those percentages are estimates based on what I've seen (I can specifically remember about 8 or 9 moving screens) and it seemed like ballhandlers were more responsible for them a little more than the picksetter.

Last night Solo was able to score according to the box score, 10 points but -10 on +/-

Ive always liked Foster, sure, he's been hurt and overpaid but he plays with heart every game and I think healthy he could still average 8 rebounds per game starting...

Since the day he got on the roster I always wondered exactly how Solomon Jones made it to the NBA. You mean to tell me that this dude is the best available for that price? For God's sake I bet Kevin Pittsnogle is available. How about Tractor Traylor? David Padgett? Anyone?

I'd take them, hell DJ White is just sitting in OKC not doing anything. It just baffles me that so many players are great in college just end up doing nothing while this guy who has never, ever done anything special at any level of basketball get's so much PT. Why is this guy not in the D-League at best? He's terrible, and always has been, I can't imagine he'd play on any other team in the NBA. None.

Solomon Jones was actually pretty good in college, but he played for a fairly obscure school. I remember thinking he was a pretty intriguing second-round pick the year he was drafted.

Agreed, though, that it just doesn't look like he'll ever be a very productive pro. If Foster has anything left--which remains to be seen--then he will be a significant upgrade at backup center.

Personally I think Solo would win, I think his length advantage would net him a higher Hit %, thus making him the victor on points.
