Danny Granger says O'brien just got a contract extention? Anyone else hear about this?

Oh crap! Hopefully it's just a rumor. I googled it and nothing else aside from that site and another one on the same level of prestige.
I hope to God this isn't true. Two strong wins shouldn't necessarily lock down the coach. Can they be indicative of what's to come? Are they a certainty? No.

Lol...okay. I don't know why rotoworld says O'brien GETS an extension when Mannix only says he's earned one. That was my scare of the night

Bird would've jumped the gun for sure. The team is playing well, no doubt, but it's only been a handful of games.

I follow Chris Mannix on twitter and he's def legit. He reports some stuff before any of the bigger names report it. If he does report something, it's almost always true, since he works for SI. SI people don't just blow smoke.
However, i think he's just speculating? Here are the tweets-
First Pacer tweet had nothing to do with JOB
Scout on Roy Hibbert: "I wondered all last season why the hell they kept throwing the ball into this kid. Now I know why."
Minutes later...
Jim O'Brien has earned an extension in Indiana. Hibbert backbones a top-10 D and Indy proved in LA when healthy, they are tough to beat
Three hours later....
The anti-O'Brien extension is puzzling. He took over a train wreck. Was decimated by injuries. Coached up Hibbert. Has team on right path.

I think people across RealGM tend to be really hard on the coaches. I hold that we can do better in coaching selection, but there's no clear-cut candidate that will better.

@Wizop. He's not getting one. I've said it before, if this team makes the playoffs, its because we have enough young talent to make it in an awful and top-heavy Eastern Conference. We could be sub-500 and make the playoffs but sub-500 doesnt warrant an extension now does it? Glad we laid that one to rest.
LOL JOB COACHED UP HIBBERT??? Taking him out for extended periods of time while hes dominating and then benching him to match up better with guys like Andrea Bargniani. Once again, you think this guy deserves an extension Wizop? LMFAO

let me put it another way. I don't see Herb Simon dumping Bird and I don't see Bird dumping O'Brien if we are solidly in the playoffs and tickets sales start to turn around. you want to put the emphasis on 500 ball rather than top 8? okay.

IF....my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle, too.
Long story short, those are some major "if's" there.
