So what do we think about him so far? Do you like the coaches plan of having him time split with tj ford?
In my opinion, I see a lot of talent with this guy. Yet, it doesnt seem like things have clicked (I know it takes time). Our current offensive system does not allow for the PG to dominate the ball that much. Compared to his old team, hornets, which is a PG dominated offensive system. So naturally, since his departure from the New Orleans his assist are way down and he is still having problems with turning the ball over.
Overall I wouldn't be surprised to read if people are slightly disappointed since acquiring him. This may be shortlived once he starts to get the ropes down. You also have to account that collision has been banged up all year. Nevertheless, I'd like to hear opinions...

We need a new coach and maybe a PnR big. David West? Can Carl Landry play the PnR?

IMO we need not only a new coach but TJ is playing more probably to showcase his talents so we can get more in return when we trade him. DC is going to be just fine once we get a new coach

DC is playing as one would expect a second year point guard to play. it is a good thing TJ is playing well enough that DC does not have to play 40 minutes a night.

Landry too small and Sac fans starting to hate him.
I'd love David West.
Strong all around player. Long arms make his reach comparable to a 6'10 - 6'11'' guy. Scores efficiently, decent boards, Good mid-range game that would blow up the paint for Hibb. At thirty he plays a game not overly predicated on athleticism, should be good for 3-4 years. For what he delivers he's cheap at 8.2 mil.
What I really like about him is that it would give DC another option to pass to and allow him (DC) to concentrate on passing and D.
Get him and a good back up 5 and we would be contenders in the East.

Landry is better than what he's showing in Sacramento. I like West and he and Collison had a good numbers with each other last year. Could we afford both next off-season?
Hibbert/West
West/Landry
Nah, a West-Landry frontcourt wouldn't work.

I think Landry is one of those guys that plays much better as 6th man.

I'm still pretty happy with him. As mentioned, JOB's system isn't point guard-friendly. The turnovers I truly believe will go down as he continues to get comfortable.
While the assists numbers are down, the offense is looking much smoother and his quickness doesn't lie. At least he doesn't do what TJ Ford and Earl Watson tend to do - run into the lane, start to make a move and get stuck forcing a turnover.
So I'm not disappointed in him by any means.

Collison has done well this far, and I think our current play amplifies that.
He's learning a VERY new system from what he is used to. He will be better when he gets comfortable.

I think DC is doing just fine, he is averaging slightly more pts per game and lower assists but also fewer minutes.
He is only a 2nd year player and still learning the system. He'll be fine

I seriously see a lot of people thinking tj ford is better then collison. You have seen many announcers say this if you have nba league pass. Maybe right now this may be SLIGHTLY true, but after watching both its clear to me who has more talent.
To be fair ford has played well but when we acquired collison it was to make him our starting pg. I read that collison is playing less minutes on avg. then any starting PG in the league. Collison can certainly improve but I think his confidence is starting to become shattered and the team chemistry is at an all time low.

Two things that I don't like about Collison:
1) His defense, particularly on P&R's.
2) His court vision, particularly on fast breaks. He either fills the lane incorrectly, makes the wrong pass, or doesn't make the pass at all because he doesn't see his teammate.
The first might just be because of his size, but the second I expect him to improve with more experience.
Other than that, I've been pretty content with him on the floor. However, I prefer Price a little more at this point.

He's not going to be a star, but he can be a very very good point guard for us, far beyond anything we've had recently (except Tinsley when he was actually playing and playing well). Two reasons I wouldnt judge him just yet 1) he's in his 2nd year and first with a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) head coach. 2) Until we get a 4, we cant really grade anyone because Larry's "plan" is not complete. I'm more interested in how he plays when we have a team that we like going forward, not how he plays with the crapshoot thatwe have now.

He's somewhat disappointed me but part of me thinks it's O'Brien's fault.

It's his second year, and he's learning a new system on the fly. I'll reserve judgment for a while, but he does make some plays that our PG's simply haven't in the past.
