Pacers trying to trade Dunleavy?

I think Cleveland is gonna blow up that squad, so pick a Cavalier...
Minnesota is likely moving Corey Brewer, so thats a team to watch because Corey alone doesn't return much...
Sacramento is trying to move Beno Udrih and Fransisco Garcia...
Washington is trying to move Andray Blatche...
Milwaukee would move Michael Redd and Corey Maggette...
Clips have offered Baron Davis to a number of teams...
Charlotte says they won't trade either Stephen Jackson or Gerald Wallace, but there is interest in both players...
Indiana is trying to package Mike Dunleavy for a deal...
Golden State has some big ending contracts and they want a real player...
Philly says they are not going to trade Iguodala, but they have a ton of tradable guys like Marresse Speights...
I think Memphis would trade Zach Randolph if it returns enough talent to insure a playoff berth.

There is a thing on this site right now about the possibility of him being traded which I think we kinda already knew there was a chance since he is in his final year of his contract
But the question is who does the package contain besides him and who we gonna trade for

I think the only thing you could get for Dunleavy or Ford for that matter is a marginally better player on a longer contract. Rip Hamilton and Kirk Hinrich come to mind.

wrong on Dunleavy's value.... Troy Murphy got us the extra yr. with Posey, but he also got us Darren.
Any deal involving our expirings should not hinder us unless there is an added benefit ( ie. 1st/young prospect).
I wouldn't accept the extra year with Hinrich, nor would I accept multiple years with RIP.
Dunleavy/ Ford/ Foster: Their value to us will peak after they expire, by creating cap-space. Many team have used this approach in acquiring really good prospects.
Teams will literally give away good players ( AlJeff/ Beasley) and draft picks for capspace.

In this instance I'm not advocating an expiring for either Hinrich or Hamilton. Just trying to estimate the trade value of either Dunleavy or Ford in isolation. I agree we are probably in a better position when we have converted these guys to pure cap space. A Collison like deal needs another team with cap space who values one of our players who's contract happens to be expiring. Can't see that for either Dunleavy or Ford. Maybe in Foster's case. But the way he's been playing I'd be looking to bring him back next year.

TJ for Kirk straight up wouldn't be bad. You could start him at the 2 depending on the matchup, and it wouldn't be an expensive pick up. Does he have 2 years left?
EDIT: And there's always trading expirings for expirings.

No to Kirk. We're good on PG and SG now. It's better to trade expirings for bigs.

I wouldn't call us good at those positions. In fact we are NOT good in exactly the aspect that some have said Kirk is good for i.e. defending large points.
If he is in fact one of the better defenders of 6'4" guys in the league I would be most happy to have him.

This is why I suggested it. With Dunleavy gone, that makes Kirk the primary backup to both the 1 and the 2. Not bad value for dunleavy.
