Go Dawgs

Okay, it's off topic but leaving on 46th street due south of Hinkle we can't help cheering for them. what a strange ending. reminds me of that Pacer/Cav game a few years ago when LeBron got a phantom call in the final seconds and then the refs gave Danny the same call at the other end. what an emotional rollercoaster.

Saw the highlights. Looked crazy.

I'm still rooting for my Fighting Irish.

just turned off the Irish game. I had them in my brackets but they look hopelessly behind and so I'm not staying up for the end.

Yeah, me neither. I haven't followed them all season so I'm not particularly invested.

The Big East now only has 2 teams left after getting 11 in.. Wish they would stop giving that mediocre conference so many bids.

While the ACC in a " down year " has 3 teams in the Sweet 16.

Lol mediocre? Why am I not surprised....The fact that the 9th and 10th place teams out of the 11 are the two in the Sweet Sixteen should say something to you.

Are you implying that the Big East is not mediocre? Because they are.

I'll dunk on the Big East. Big 10 all day.

Did they underperform? Yes. But then again, that is the nature of the tournament and a 1-game playoff. There are plenty of years where the Big East has great representation in the later rounds. Are they mediocre? No. Simply said. Schedule speaks for itself.

I wouldn't call the Big East mediocre. I would call it over-hyped. Clearly there isn't a remarkable difference between it and the other major conferences.

That's a much better way to word it. Honestly if teams like OSU, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, MSU, and Penn State were in the Big East this year they'd probably be in the upper half of the division. OSU, Wisconsin and Purdue would easily be at the top.

That means alot since UCONN and Marquette finished 9th and 11th so you would have those teams all placed ahead of UCONN and MU? Hmm sounds like 4 of those teams you mentioned are in the same boat as the "mediocre" Big East: Watching the tournament. Not to mention you're discounting alot about the Big East conference schedule and its effects later in the season. (Example: INJURIES to key players on some of those teams that lost their first game)

In terms of head to head, B10 vs BE, Purdue lost to West Virginia (a middle of the pack Big East team). Wisconsin lost to Notre Dame. Michigan State lost to UCONN (neutral) and Syracuse (home). Michigan also lost to Syracuse. Penn State and Ohio State didnt play any BE teams. (PSU had alot of bad losses though  )

No one is denying that the conference underperformed, but overrated? You're confusing the former for the latter.

Let's hope the NBA Butler is Indiana this season.

I'd just as soon it be Charlotte.

only one more. to get to the final game two years in a row is incredible for any program let alone a mid-major. I'd gladly draft Howard or Mack in the 2nd.

Especially because Mack is going in the first round now. 8-) . If he was healthy in the Final Four last year, Butler would be looking for championship number 2.

draft express still doesn't have Mack in the top 64 but I suppose that could change if he declares. they do have a very recent write-up on him. I suppose his draft stock could be much like IUPUI's Hill's was - 2nd round projection but a first round surprise on draft day. Howard is ranked even lower.
