Did anyone else think Tyler's break away dunk in the fourth yesterday (when he got fouled from behind) should have been a clear path foul? There was no defender in front of him, and he got fouled from behind...that should have been a And One with the ball on the side IMO.

I can never keep the clear path rule straight (and assuming we're talking about the same play), but I thought the clear path rule only came into play if the players/ball hadn't crossed the half-court line yet.

Could very well be wrong though.

Clear Path to the Basket: If a fast break starts in a team’s backcourt and a defender fouls any offensive player when the team is going to score an easy basket, a clear path foul has occurred. When the foul happens, no defender can be ahead of the ball where he could defend against the easy basket

Whatever it was, it would have been catastrophic had Boozer not let up at the end.

In my estimation, it was a clear-path situation, Tyler should've been given the and1, and the ball out of bounds. Also, like I was saying earlier, Boozer's contact on that play was borderline flagrant. He made no play on the ball, and committed enough contact that Tyler had to hang on the rim an extra second and twist in midair to avoid slamming to his back.

Whatever it is, David Stern needs to address malicious intentions. Boozer should be fined atleast $20 k.

Also Kurt Thomas is savvy enough to land inadvertent elbows on cue. If it happens again it is not an accident, and he should be suspended if he can't refrain from using his elbows as weapons.

I know I am in enemy territory here so Ill try not to be too biased, but to me Boozers foul looked worse than it did. It was a stupid foul by Boozer but it looked like he was trying to wrap up Hansborough around the waste to disrupt the shot. The problem is that they were both going full speed making the foul look worse than it was. I, too, thought it was a little over aggressive foul until I saw the replay a few times.

Regarding Kurt Thomas, yeah none of those elbows were on accident. He's made a living delivering those elbows for 15 years. I get it but as a Bulls fan, it doesnt make me particularly proud, especially when you see someone almost get concussed from one like Tyler did.

If you're going to call that you have to call the play that happened right after that when Danny fouled Noah...although I think Noah should have been teched for hanging on the rim long after he could have dropped safely.
