While, also according to Wells, LA Times reports former Lakers assistant Frank Hamblen, who is from Terre Haute, is also a possibility to join Vogel's staff.

A lot of people said that a veteran coach would be perfect for that. Hamblen definitely fits the bill. Never heard of the guy from Minnesota.

Could be related to Bernie Bickerstaff maybe?

I've seen Bickerstaff speak. From the little I saw, I would say he is a good veteran guy who can bond with players. If we hire him, we could use one or two hardasses.

there's a full story in today's Star. says we want one veteran assistant and one former player. both make sense to me although there is a danger that the veteran could over power Vogel's voice particular if it is a guy who has been a head coach. a long time assistant like Hamblen wouldn't raise that concern.

JB Bickerstaff is Bernie Bickerstaffs kid. He was an assistant with Charlotte when they started off, and I want to say the players got along better with him then his dad. I'm pretty sure he was being groomed to be the new head coach, but Bernies run didn't go all that well and they were both let go.

Wouldn't mind having the three guys mentioned in the article, especially Hamblen. They all know their stuff, and could contribute very good knowledge to the team. I'd love to see them come to Indy.
