Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
ProBasketballTalk.com referenced a Chad Ford piece saying that the Jazz may have Paul Millsap (and Devin Harris) on the block. I would love to get Millsap. If only a package of Hansbrough (who would become Favors' backup), Dahntay, and a pick could get it done.

Re: Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
No, I wouldn't do it.
Millsap is good, but I wouldn't pack both Tyler and Dantay at the same time since Millsap is also an undersized PF. It is not a good decision to start an undersized PF in the long run unless he can be an all-star.

Re: Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
I wouldn't give Hansbrough/ DJ/ & Marshon for Milsap. That would be worse then when we gave a first for Harrington. I could be swayed if we took out the pick. Although, I guarantee Tyler and DJ will outproduce Milsap, not to mention they are cheaper. Also, after this 3-for-1 trade, we'd have like 8 players.
Our focus should be on players that other teams are looking to dump for capspace.

Millsap is a great player. He's got the right amount of youth and intelligence. Who cares about undersized? Wasn't Barkley about 6'5"? He's efficient, too.
That being said, it's no secret that I REALLY want to see what Hansbrough has to offer with a full offseason under his belt, and I'm also curious to see who this pick is going to turn into.

Barkley will go nuts if you compare Millsap with him.

Again, I'm not saying Millsap isn't a good player. I just don't see he's the answer for the Pacers at PF, not to mention giving away two toughest guys in the team to get him.

Millsap looked like an all-star for a good part of the season last year. I would do Hansbrough, Rush, and a protected 2012 pick for him.
Collison/Stephenson
George/Jones
Granger/FA/Posey
Millsap/FA/McRoberts
HibbertFA/Foster
Use Capspace and #15 to fill out bench.

Millsap's impact on our team outweigh what Dahntay and Hansbrough would bring. He would definitely outproduce Hansbrough, help Hibbert's effectiveness, bring some inside defense and toughness, while giving PG more minutes at 2 with Dahntay gone. Not sure why you'd guarantee otherwise lol. smh? This is also assuming Brooks isnt available to us. If we kept the pick and got Brooks, it'd be a definite no brainer.

Re: Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
The Pacers need a big rebounder, is Milsap the answer maybe but I too would like to see what Hansbrough can do next season, can he become the big rebounder we need?

Re: Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
I respect the Utah Jazz as an organization, which means I respect their decision making. Anyway, if Milsap is so good, than why have they brought in two superior pf's in consecutive seasons. You know, they could've gotten Lopez from New Jersey if they wanted, probably at the cost of Favors and the 2012 1st. It seems the Jazz organization doesn't believe in Milsap. To me that is a red-flag.
This season at 34 mpg he averaged 17 and 7.5. I know he had a great game against us early in the season (against McBob and Posey) but what PF didn't. We made Channing Frye look like Lamar Odom in his prime.
If I wanted Milsap, I'd keep Hansbrough and the pick, then acquire a pick in the upper 20's and select his clone, Faried.
I like trades that make our roster grow larger.

Millsap would be nice but we need someone bigger. So i'd rather have Hansbrough.

Re: Paul Millsap may be on the trade block
The reason Milsap is on the block is because Utah has too many players at that position. If they use pick 3 on a big positions 4 and 5 get that much more crowded. Given all that I can't see Tyler being a valued that highly as a return chip.
In many ways Milsap is what you hope Tyler Hansbrough will become. Wouldn't be surprised if it happened this year. Not sure it makes sense to spend significant assets on redundant talent.

I like Jefferson more than Milsap.

Valid point IMO. Making him available doesn't exactly scream confidence in this guy.
I thought about it for a while (Jefferson is a better center, Favors a pf) but if it is true, there is no valid excuse for making him available if he is really that good. Or not one I see.
The Jazz organisation usually knows what they are doing. I can even understand the drafting of Hayward now.
I'd love to get him on our team, but with the draft nearing, I see a player we could use AND keep Hansbrough. I doubt the upgrade would be worth it in the long run.
