Indy definitely could use another post anchor like you mentioned. Hibbert is fine and I'm interested to see him this year with this new training regimen. Last year, he got more mobile, but at the expense of some beefiness to hold his own physically. Sounds like this year, he's trying to find that happy medium. But Foster will be done in a couple years and we'll need somebody to do the dirty work post-Foster.

I think the Pacers will like some things from Biyombo, but will likely pass in favor of a player that can generate their own offense.

The Pacers biggest need is finding a defensive minded anchor that'll provide stability in the blocks, allowing Roy to focus more on weakside help. This should reduce the amount of stress Roy is under.

Our second priority is to find a playermaker, and it looks as if Burks or Brooks will be there.

Honestly when players start dropping there is a tendency to fall in love with them (ie..Granger/Bayless). The fact Bismack was projected so highly is what intrigues me. I could care less about his workouts, they did not show his motor, or that a lot of his putbacks are usually flushes. At the workout they had him taking shots he will need to develop, but certainly not ones he relies on.

@ 15 he is definitely worth the risk of passing on a 2-guard.

I think there will be other teams with a greater interest to pick him or to trade up for him.

if her's really 18, he's very tempting but if we could parlay him into two first round picks, I'd do that. I'd rather have Tyler and Shumpert and you might even get lucky and slip and still get Brooks.

One indication that Biyombo might be available at #15 is that he was not among those invited to the "Green Room" on draft night. So the league isn't sure he will be an early pick.

Quite honestly, I won't know what to think if the Pacers draft him. He sounds like the kind of athlete the Pacers need for their frontcourt. But I have no idea whether or not he knows how to play basketball.

I'm starting to think we focus too much on defense, we still gotta score points fellas. Not on 20 ppg scorer in our roster.

Danny's put up 20+ ppg for each of the last 3 seasons. The year before that, he was 19.6 ppg.

We have a 20 ppg scorer on this roster. We just need more options that can create 15 ppg for themselves each night. Collison could be one. George could be another. Hibbert could be another.

I agree that the Pacers would like to have him, and he'd be a good fit, but there's no way we don't draft a scorer here to help Granger. We need a scorer more than another defensive big. Sorry, great idea, but just not the year.

^^^ I agree with this. From a lot of the mocks I've seen, there will be a good amount of PFs possibly still available at #42. May not be exactly what we're looking for. But in the second round, definitely worth taking a flier.

troll post? We have an awful defense and have had few problems putting up points. Also, drafting a guy to bolster the defense does not mean that we're focusing too much on defense lol. Biyombo would have a greater benefit to our team than picking up a Brooks type guy on offense in all honesty.

We have a gaping hole between Hib and Ty.
We will not be a strong team until that is addressed.
We have for awhile reminded me of the Pacers B4 DD. It just didn't work. With out someone gettin' ugly down low, it almost never does.

If Biyombo is there at the 15 I take him.
if he can give strong help side D and grab offensive boards he would be a great fit and help us team wise way more than a guy that can score.

But that's not Larry's philosophy. He'll take a mid sized scorer when ever feasible.

after watching several hours of draft preview shows, I think it comes down to is Bismack's worst case Ben Wallace or is that his best case? if it's the worst case, he'll be hard to pass on although I'd sure have to understand why 14 teams chose to do so.

Worst case he is Cheik Samb or Desagana Diop. Ben Wallace is a best case type scenario.

I like Biyombo, but the risk factor is massive. Indy would be much better served taking a prospect for the 2 guard and drafting a PF next year, when a deep draft is taking shape.

Bringing in a player like Fredette, with a huge work ethic and sound skills seems to me like a better option than Biyombo. I think he can be good, but the chances that it happens are miniscule.

looks more and more like we'll have Stanko next year and maybe even this year if they can get a CBA soon. I like Fredette and Brooks too at 15 and hope we'll get a pick between 15 and 42 so we can select a second tier big man.

Bird said there is at least one Euro who is not immediately available who is so good that he'd take him at 15 with Herb's permission. I assume that's not Biyombo as I think he has no buyout issues. probably one of the two J's who've been projected in the top 10. I think Donatas has a manageable buyout so it's probably not him either although I wouldn't boo that selection.

if all else fails, the kid from Oakland should be there at 42 and maybe the kid from Maryland.

Valanciunas is gonna be a project but could be the best player from this draft too. If he falls past Cleveland and Washington, very likely, I think Houston would be our only obstacle.

What about this scenario Pacer trade Rush and 15 to Bucks for 10 (can't recall if that is a rumor or if I saw it on a trade thread). Pacers use pick 10 to select Jonas Valanciunas. I could see him falling that far but probably would never get to 15. Everyone would have to be patient but that could ba a huge win out of this draft.

I'm all for trading Rush to get up and either pick up Jonas or a Klay Thompson SG. (Even though my number one preference would be to trade with LAC to bring Eric Gordon back to Indy.)

I think Klay will be gone at 15 and Brooks may be available lower. I'd have no problem trading Rush for a pick in the 20's.
