Should we make offer to RJ

What are your guys thoughts on offering or I guess bidding on Richard Jefferson. I'm thinking he will go in the 4 mil. a year. Not real sure how that is going to work but I think I heard whatever you bid is stretched over the length of his contract he already has. Just thought he might be a better choice than Crawford and about half the price. Would also give us a chance to trade Rush because he really would not be needed.

Yeah, I'd like to see the actual rules of the whole "Amnesty bidding process".

If we could only be on the hook for $5 million a year, I'd take Richard Jefferson. Depth is nice, and we could always play both George and Granger at the 2 and 3 to maximize minutes. 96 minutes at the 2 spots, with 3 guys really manning them? That works. That then pigeonholes George Hill into PG minutes only though, unless we go small and play Granger at the 4 more often.

My hope is we never play small.

I'd rather funnel that money into the Nene fund and let Rush and Dahntay stay.

We're overloaded on the wing. No need for RJ IMO, unless he grows 5 inches more and leans how to play center.

We need a back up SF, but there are about 4 guys out there I'd want before Jefferson.

There will be a bunch of guys to look at I believe. I might wait and see the full list of amnesty releases before jumping at RJ.

If I'm not mistaken there are only about 8 or 9 teams that will be able to give the amnesty players over 2 mil. a year once everyone signs there rookies. I really don't look for there to be a bunch of players getting amnesty before the season starts. I would really like to know how the amnesty works if we put a bid in how long is the bidding open for or how long does the player stay amnesty if no team puts a bid in on him before they can sign with someone over the cap.

Don't get me wrong I won't Nene first but I thought we could get him around 13 mil. and RJ around 3 mil. and trade Rush for a scrub big and we would be pretty much set.

Collison, Stephenson, Price
George, Hill, Jones
Granger, RJ, Posey
Nene, Hansbrough
Hibbert, (trade)

I say trade any of Rush, Jones, Price, Posey.

Jefferson isn't much of anything at this point besides a spot-up shooter. His up's are pretty well gone, and he was never much defensively. It would be nice to get a veteran wing to play some 2 and 3, but I don't think that guy should be RJ.
