5 per season seems like a very good bargain compared to what some guards were getting last offseason (Blake,Livingston, etc.. close to 4 per).
Larry is doing a helluva good job. I like how a lot of dumb a$$ gm's are willing to overpay for good players. On the other hand, Larry is approaching free agency with a clear agenda towards the future. This is where the market needs to be at for us. I saw a lot of comments on here suggesting 8-10 per for Crawford, that I would not be in favor of.
On the bright side for those of us who preferred Mayo, we can still get him next offseason if things don't work out. It's not like teams are tripping over themselves to get him, considering his asking price is relatively low.

I'm not a big Jamal Crawford fan, but he would probably become the closest thing the Pacers have to a pure two-guard and the contract seems fairly reasonable. I hope he wouldn't take many minutes away from Paul George.

I hope JC accepts our offer assuming this will not be cutting into Paul's minutes. For that to happen, Dahntay is probably not needed.

Sounds like one year and a team option. I'd prefer Mayo but this is pretty much a wash if we only have to have Crawford for one year.

Must be afraid of competition with Hill, George and Rush

Crawford was my #1 target at the SG position. I doubt we will increase our offer for Crawford, and now have to get back into talks with OJ Mayo or find a new option. Who else is out there?

I would love to see Nick Young here. He hasn't signed Washington's qualifying offer yet and doesn't seem to be getting much attention on the market (don't know why). He worked out with Granger and PG over the summer and he's a scorer. I read somewhere that Wizards wouldn't be able to match a front-loaded deal.
Thoughts?

Nick Young isn't as efficient as Crawford, which is big when it comes to scoring, but Crawford started out the exact same way, so it's definitely worth looking at. The two guys I was eying at the 2 going into this season were Thornton (off the market now) and Young.

No big deal. Crawford isn't too exciting. I want to see Paul get most of the two-guard minutes anyway, to see what he can do. He's not your prototypical shooting guard, but it might work anyway, especially on defense.
George Hill can play two guard (it might even be his best position) and Stephenson might be ready for some time there too. The Pacers will be fine for now.

He's a restricted free agent, so Washington can match. He's also made statements that he essentially wants a 4-5 year deal for MASSIVE money. He just doesn't seem like a Bird type player.

What about Ben Gordon, if he gets amnesty cut, of course?

No Detroit bought out Hamilton's contract. I'm pretty sure they still have their amnesty.

Moving on to a better player I'd say.
And see how clutch George, West or Hill can be on the Pacers.

Charlie V will get cut before Gordon anyways.
