Time to trade Granger
Nows the time to trade Granger before his value drops anymore than it is now. He's turned into a chucker. He's not a team player.

Re: Time to trade Granger
The pressure of having a young 21 year old phenom on your heels must be a b*tch, because it makes him play like one.
Granger used to be the ultimate team player, but now he seems to have a superiority complex much like JO developed here. Ironically Danny took the spotlight from him, and now he is faced with the ultimate test, and he is reacting mcuh the same way JO did, with poor production, and a smug attitude.
If his shot is not falling I expect rebounds, some assists, steals and more contested shots. These are the intangibles that made him an all-star, and it also opened up his offense. He needs to become an enforcer on the wing again, like Ron-Ron taught him to be, instead of trying to do things outside of his skill-set.

Re: Time to trade Granger
two weeks into the season and you are already playing the glass is half empty game even though we're in third place in the conference? seems pretty nice to be to be winning while the team is still learning to play with two key new players and a nearly new coach. show some patience.

Re: Time to trade Granger
I have to agree with Boneman2 that Granger is forcing alot of things. I'm happy that the Pacers are winning but if there is a way that we can improve our team I say do it. Granger still has value as of right now, but if he goes through this season playing the way he has then his value is going to drop something terrible. It is a fact that our offense works alot better when we are moving the ball rather than trying to go one on one. Granger needs to be taking the ball to the rim or looking for his teamates when his shot is off, not just throwing up more shots so you can get your points. I'm in favor of moving him for the right piece or pieces.
I don't know about Gordon, is he really hurt (I think he is) or is he just not wanting to play for the Hornets? I would rather have Ariza than Okafor so I don't have to see Jones play.

Re: Time to trade Granger
Let's not forget that he's an upper-echelon player who actually WANTS to be in small-market Indiana. In today's NBA, unless you luck into a loyal superstar like a Tim Duncan or Kevin Durant falling into your lap, that's getting harder and harder to come by.
Granger is doing fine and he is still adjusting to this new and improving team. Granger is a shooter and I have no doubt his percentages will pick up. And when they do, this team will be even scarier and all of this "Granger needs to go talk" will die out, I'm sure. Danny has been slow out of the gate, yes, but let's give him more than a 8-game sample size given the new atmosphere of the team.
We're only a couple weeks into a similar, yet MUCH improved roster. Even through most of last year, Granger was still THE guy. Hibbert's confidence was destroyed by Jim nO'Brain, Paul George couldn't get any consistent minutes until Vogel took over and was still learning the NBA game, same with Hansbrough, West and George Hill were obviously not Pacers yet, and Darren Collison was still adjusting to his 4th coach in his first two years as a pro. So, while the roster is similar, the team is not.
During these first couple weeks, Paul George is much improved, Darren may stagnate the offense sometimes but has been shooting fairly well the last couple games and is getting some nicer assist numbers, Hibbert has become way more consistent, David West and George Hill are getting used to new coaches and teammates, and Tyler is settling into his new role, all with a very crammed training camp. So the Pacers, like every other team that made moves, is having to learn and gel on the fly.
Danny has been THE guy and really the only option for the Pacers the last four years. He's still getting used to Hibbert, Hansbrough, and Paul George having vastly improved from last year, two new key teammates in Hill and West, and even Collison is starting to pick up his offense. The other night against the Celtics during a key late possession, Danny could have forced up a 3 with a defender running at him, but instead used a couple more seconds on the clock to pass it up, kick it to Darren who drilled the 3 and hit the dagger. I truly think he's starting to get it. Plus, he hasn't attempted more than 15 shots in the last 5 games or so. And while his percentages are bad, he's a shooter. Shooters need to shoot to get their rhythm back, so there's really only one solution. Let him shoot his way back into form, as long as he's not a detriment to the team. And we're 6-2 so until further notice, no need to panic yet.

I'd much rather have Dahntay's production at under $3 million a year through next year rather than Ariza's at over $7 million per year for the next two years.
But considering Gordon's injury history, I'd rather gamble and make a run during free agency (or use our cap flexibility on someone else) than trade Danny and possibly rent Gordon.
Didn't Gordon subtly allude to not wanting to get drafted by Indy back in 2008? Could be wrong.

Re: Time to trade Granger
Granger is NOT a superstar or upper-echelon player. I wouldn't be opposed to trading him for the right price, but I wouldn't call for him to be traded either. I'd like to see how he adjusts as the team begins to gel.

No kidding. I'm starting to think a lot of people here are clueless.
You, Miller4ever and Chube appear to be the only one's making any sense in this thread. Sorry if I overlooked anyone.
I posted it in a previous thread but I guess I'll do it again...
21.6pts 5.6rebs 3.2asts 1.2stl 1.4to
47.8%fg 34.8%3pt 87.5%ft
That's how he finishes the season against the number one seed Bulls(5 game series) and all of a sudden some of you think he's a "chucker" and not very good because he's struggled in the first 8 games of the season. Wow... There wasn't even an offseason either. I'd like to borrow your guys crystal ball since you apparently know he's mentally weak and can't handle that Paul George is on the rise. You have guys like Lebron, Bosh and Wade who chose to play together but Granger can't handle the rise of Paul George. Gtfo lol

Seriously, I'd love to see what happens in the playoffs last year without Danny Granger. Sure as heck weren't going to be leading the Bulls in the 4th quarter in any of the games. Granger was clutch as can be during that series.

Re: Time to trade Granger
if Granger is terrible, why would we expect to get anything for him in a trade at least until he has an expiring contract? I'll bet you like his game a whole lot more by the end of the year but if not you'd still want to buy low and sell high.
