THE SKINNY

Image

Coming off the all-star break with exactly half of their games played, the Pacers look to improve on their already impressive 21-12 record at home against the Warriors, who are still holding out hope for a playoff berth.

THE LINEUPS

Image

Point Guard
ImageImage
If Curry plays, Collison will need to defend aggressively and force the ball to be put on the floor. Collison's biggest weakness thus far in the season has been his defense, and teams are starting to key in on it. He also needs to make better decisions when plays break down, using his speed to force the issue with defenders.

Shooting Guard
ImageImage
Coming off an all-star break where he didn't really garner attention past the analysts who gushed over his gifts, George continues to fly under the radar. Defending Ellis has proven to be difficult in the past, but George does negate a lot of what he tries to do. On the other end, George needs to figure out how to use his offensive skills and make better decisions for his teammates.

Small Forward
ImageImage
Dorell Wright is one of many players for the Warriors that can light it up any given night. To try and match him is to play into the Warriors' gameplan, so Granger needs to defend against the three, and take it right at the Golden State defense on the other end.

Power Forward
ImageImage
David Lee can really throw a wrench into the rebounding gameplan the Pacers have. Luckily, David West got rest over the All-Star break and looks to continue his rising play, which is becoming a consistent anchor for the Pacers who look to establish dominance down low.

Center
ImageImage
Roy Hibbert did his part in the All-Star game, breaking rules and standing there while the flashy guys did their thing. He was looking to learn from the greats and hopefully he's picked up some tips that will translate into a continuation of his excellent first-half production and improvement as a player. He has to claim the low post as his turf early and often.

THE BENCH

Image

With more dangerous shooters coming off the bench, the Goon Squad has their work cut out for them. Tyler needs to match the physicality Udoh brings, and a lot of eyes are on George Hill as he continues to work back into the flow of things. Brandon Rush may be looking for a modicum of revenge against his former ballclub.

THE COACHES

Image

ImageImage
After the controversial kick-ball non-call in Oakland, Mark Jackson will be prepping his squad for payback. Frank Vogel has impressed the importance of defending home court, and this game can set the tone for the remainder of the season, where the Pacers will be playing more games at home against tougher opponents.

THE INJURY REPORT

Image

Pacers
None.

Warriors
Kwame Brown: Being Kwame Brown - No.
Steph Curry: Foot - Maybe.

THE HEAVY MATTERS

Image

-Control the tempo. Golden State will win in a shootout. Keep them under 100 points.
-Establish the bigs. David West and Roy Hibbert getting going will open the game up for everyone else.

Our bench is...overall not that impressive so far. Tyler was fine when he was with some of the 1st unit, but once it became all reserves (Price, Hill, Hans, Dahntay, and Foster)...yikes.

I'd rather Lance be in over AJ because of his quickness against the zone. But AJ has done some nice things.

I like wins like these.

Paul George is going to get a 5x5 one of these days.

Great night of basketball.

Pacers blow out Warriors.

Indiana blows out Michigan State.

Butler (one of the hottest teams in the nation) blows out Wright State in the Horizon League tournament.

Gary Harris (remember the name) hits a half court buzzer beater to lead HSE over North Central.

Yeah, he's even one of the few players who could get a quadruple-double.

He's one of the best playmakers on the team. With Shaw here, we could run a triangle at times because we got 3 good passers at the 2 with PG, 4 with West, and 5 with Roy.

David West isn't a particularly good passer. He's miles ahead of Tyler, but that's not saying much.
