Ronny Turiaf?

It sounds like he'll be bought out by the Nuggets and while he will not be a guy who puts us over the top, anybody interested in signing him for the remainder of the season?
Despite Amundson playing very well as a fill-in in his unnatural 5 position, front-court depth is always huge and a nice luxury. He may draw interest from teams like the Heat, Celtics, and Thunder, but would anybody be interested in making a play? If nothing else, he's a nice energy and rebounding guy.
Eh?

I like it because I'm not believing Foster will ever be healthy.

Yeah, having some active bulk in the middle will help. Neither Hibbert nor Lou really wear out opposing 5's.

I don't see him as a true 5. I'd take a center off the waiver wire but not a power forward.

JJ Hickson is being bought out as well.

Neither Hickson nor Turiaf really fill a need on this team. I'd be fine with Turiaf because it is good to have size, though he's not that tall really. Turiaf is a bigger body, but isn't he like 6'8 or so? We've already got West, Hansbrough, Amundson, Pendergaph, and even Foster in the PF size bigs. Plus Granger and George are the same heightwise. Turiaf would probably be the best fill in center of the group, other than Foster is he's healthy.
Hickson's got potential, but seems to have quite low Bball IQ, plus he's basically a dumber Hansbrough. It'd be nice to have another athletic big, but at least Amundson and Hansbrough try.
I'd mostly want Turiaf for his locker room presence. He played with Kobe and Fisher under Phil and definitely has heart. I actually would have wanted the Pacers to try and pick up Fisher if we hadn't gotten Barbosa. If he would agree to play for the Pacers he could possibly be a great mentor to Collison on being a successful small point. Plush Brian Shaw's on the coaching staff.
Either way I see all three of those players going to the big ticket teams, Miami, OKC, Chicago, LA, etc.
Honestly think management should have tried to get Kurt Thomas from the Blazers for a worthless 2nd or some random Euro prospect. They were cleaning house and I'm sure he could have been had on the cheap. It would have given us another veteran leader who could back up Roy for 15-20 minutes a night. He played really well last year for the Bulls when their bigs were injured while playing major minutes.

I'd be for a minimum signing of Turiaf. Not so much Hickson. JJ might have potential at PF, but the kid just can't put it together more than a game or two at a time.

I like Turiaf a lot. He's a bit undersized for his position but he fits the mold Larry wants.

I want JJ Hickson.
He's not a center but he's a big and he has potential. He averaged 8.5pts(55.4%) 5.0rebs(81gms 20.9min) and 13.8pts(45.8%) 8.7rebs(80gms 28.2min) the last two seasons. He's been struggling this season but the Kings coaching also isn't very good. At 23 years old, I want this guy. Think he could play some quality minutes and could be a nice young asset to add.

JJ had a solid half of a season with Cleveland last year, but otherwise, has had a pretty awful other 3 and a half seasons in the NBA. I think his average will be a lot closer to the 8.5/5 than the 14/9 he put up for a half of last season.

How about Ryan Hollins? Cleveland just cut him.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
Maybe the worst player in the NBA. Seriously, he's worth nothing. Apparently, in PER rankings, he's something like the 70th rated CENTER in the NBA. That means that every team has at least 2 guys that are just centers that are better than him. Keep in mind, most teams don't have 3 centers.

^^ You're probably right.
Turiaf just signed with Miami. We gotta find a big for the playoffs, a quick replacement for Jeff Foster.
