Look out below.

THE SKINNY

Image
The series is tied 1-1 heading into Orlando, and the Pacers look to ride the momentum into enemy territory and come out with a W in game 3, which would revert homecourt back to Indiana and put them in the lead. Coaches are making adjustments and neither team has felt that they have played up to their potential yet, which means when it happens, the series will ratchet up in intensity.

THE LINEUPS

Image

Point Guard
ImageImage
Much better in game 2, and the only Pacer to shoot over 10% from deep, George Hill also did a much better job on defense in game 2.

Shooting Guard
ImageImage
Paul George also performed much better in game 2, collecting 17 points and 8 rebounds while only missing 3-point attempts as well as supplying some highlights. Richardson is still a killer who couldn't show up last game because he sprained his hand early.

Small Forward
ImageImage
Granger is still searching for his shot in this series, but showed up much better late. He needs to find ways to get to the line for free points and fouls on the Magic bigs without dribbling too much.

Power Forward
ImageImage
David West is supplying that veteran presence and is giving the Pacers flexibility at the 4 and the 5 when the Hibbert matchup isn't favoring them. Ryan Anderson was much quieter because of foul trouble, but was still effective in the minutes he played. David West looks like the key player for the Pacers in this matchup.

Center
ImageImage
Glen Davis continues to give Roy trouble, although Hibbert dominates the glass when he's in. Unfortunately, he's just not in position to setup his offense because of Davis' wide base.

THE BENCH

Image

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage
The bench has to focus and step up, as they are the weak link right now. The Pacers are tightening up their rotations, but the bench has the talent to not blow double-digit leads and needs to display that ability. Hansbrough drawing fouls will be key.

THE COACHES

Image

ImageImage
Frank Vogel has made necessary adjustments and the Pacers looked much better because of them. His willingness to adapt the gameplan along with help from the rest of the coaching staff will be very important against Van Gundy's tactics.

THE INJURY REPORT

Image

Pacers
None.

Magic
Dwight Howard: Disc - No.

THE HEAVY MATTERS

Image

-Focus and effort. Especially important on the road.
-Attack their bigs. They are thin, and getting either Davis or Anderson in foul trouble will open things up.
-Make them work on defense. Playing at a faster tempo and sharing the ball makes heaving up shots more difficult.

THE TRADITION: Best of 7

Granger plays even an average game. We win big.

We find a way to actually get the ball down low to our star Center. We win big.

Someone from our bench plays a decent game. We win big.

We shoot even mediocre from 3 point land. We win big.

We play our game. We win big.

Defend the pick and roll, rotate well and play to our strengths and this game has no business being close.

Hopefully we play with the focus and intensity of the 3rd quarter in game 2 for a full 48 minutes and demoralize this scrappy magic team, who still have alot of pride, even without Dwight Howard.

We've seen this twice before. Luckily the second unit is +/- 0 right now, which is an improvement over the last two. Is it just me or are we seeing a little bit of zone from the Pacers?

^ Yeah looked like they were running a 2-3.

Need to finish this quarter strong and carry the momentum in the 2nd half.

Roy with two great plays after Danny has two dumb plays. He would be so much better if he would pass on the fastbreak.

Pacers were just stocking ammo in the 1st half for the 3rd quarter blitz.

Is it still 13-man rosters for the playoffs?

? Fesenko is the only one I noticed not dressed.

Since they are keeping the 13-man roster, I don't see why it wouldn't be the same in the playoffs.

Can't dwell on the past, you live and learn. But, if it wasn't for the missed free throw's by Granger in Game 1, i think we'd be looking forward to Saturday's game with brooms in our hands. Just like the second half of game 2 was a moment of truth for the Pacers, Game 4 will be similar for Orlando. They don't go down easy. They have 2 full days to prepare for their potentially season saving game. Because we all know, if Pacers win on Saturday, they'll blow them out of the Fieldhouse in Game 5.

It'll be difficult. Two days off benefits their thin rotation more than it does ours, and they won't roll over after getting embarrassed on their home court.

You're absolutely correct.

Although, w/o Dwight, Orlando is a lottery team. With that being the case, we should mop the floor with their a$$es 9 times out of 10.

Go for the jugular.
