THE SKINNY

Image
The Pacers are where they expected to be. The 2nd round is where many people see the Pacers finishing their season. The Heat hold a 3-1 edge in the regular season matchup, and the MVP favorite. After knocking out their respective first-round opponents in 5 games, the two are slated to match up for the first time in the playoffs since 2004, when Reggie Miller and Caron Butler were dueling it out. The Pacers are coming into the series full of confidence and back in a role they relish: underdog.

THE LINEUPS

Image

Point Guard
ImageImage
While he is no slouch, Mario Chalmers is one of the players on the Heat rotation the Pacers will be targeting. George Hill provides the Pacers with an edge, although Miami likes to play sans point guard at times, meaning Hill will get some burn against the likes of Wade and Mike Miller.

Shooting Guard
ImageImage
Paul George faces mounting pressure as the offensive and defensive x-factor. He's matched up with Wade and Lebron, and also needs to perform well on the other end to make Miami's defense work. He showed in the close-out game against the Magic that he can be a weapon.

Small Forward
ImageImage
Granger has to be angry the whole series. He has to take everything Lebron does personally. He had his gloves on for Orlando, but that weak stuff won't do against the Heat.

Power Forward
ImageImage
David West is going to be challenged facing Chris Bosh, the most athletic big man in the series. He should and will keep to the toughness that anchors this Pacers team. His scoring, boarding, and leadership are all going to be very important. If he can turn this matchup from a disadvantage into an advantage, the Pacers stand a much better chance of upsetting Miami.

Center
ImageImage
Hibbert is where the Pacers enjoy the biggest positional edge over Miami. The Heat are going to punish his indecisiveness much better than the Magic could, so he has to commit and execute with more urgency and desire. He will also need to stay out of foul trouble.

THE BENCH

Image

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage
Darren Collison has come alive, and in the Pacers' lone win against Miami, he was the catalyst there as well. The Pacers have not had the bench scoring they would've liked, and that can't be the case against a Miami team where any potential advantage must be pressed.

THE COACHES

Image

ImageImage
Frank Vogel righted the 0-1 ship and rattled off 4 straight against the Magic. The Heat handled the Knicks save for one outburst from Carmelo. Spoelstra is playing a team that presents matchup problems everywhere, and Vogel will have to read and react to those accordingly.

THE INJURY REPORT

Image

Pacers
None.

Heat
None.

THE HEAVY MATTERS

Image

-Take care of the ball. Letting Miami run is tantamount to losing.
-Balance. Not only should everyone contribute, but everyone has to step up their game and put the onus on Miami to beat us.

THE TRADITION: Best of 7

Our guys said to themselves that they were going to hold Lin to under 10 pts at the peak of Linsanity. What happened? He had 9 pts and 7 turnovers.

Apparently our team that was only 4 games worse than the Heat this season, are on par with players that went undrafted and got cut by the Rockets/Warriors.

Congrats on three super superstars shutting down a guy that's barely in the league.

The more I see their fans make comments like "We would win every game by 20 without the refs", the more I think the Pacers are going to beat them.

Living outside of Indiana in the midwest, I watched all but like 5 Pacers games this season and I had to watch them all online. There is absolutely no way the Heat fans talking out their butt saw more than 5 Pacers games this season and they even played the Heat 4 times. They know nothing about this team except box scores.

Miami Heat Championship Parade Route Revealed
http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/cultist/2011/06/miami_heat_championship_parade.php

Yeah, we know what you are thinking. Parade? Doesn't the Miami Heat have to win the championship, or even a third game, first? Nah, that's just how we do. We celebrate the season before playing a single game. Then we party like it's 1999 when we beat the Boston Celtics in the Conference Semifinals. So we thought it appropriate to go ahead and announce our suggested parade route before our championship hatched.

That was during the Mavs series. We saw how that turned out.

I love pouring fuel on fires.

I bet they had this song prepared for their championship victory...

Wishing you guys the best and hope you win. Of all the teams in the east, your team has the best chance of beating the heat.

Well I come in peace ....

But the Pacer has no chance in Game one....
If your going to steal a game ,Game two maybe MH will relax

But I see the Heat in 6 all close expect game 1...

How do you beat the Heat ? You must move the ball for side to side
creating mismatches `

Yeah, the Heat rotate well, but sometimes over-rotate.

Sure, I'd take Lebron or Wade over any guy we have. But I'd take our roster over the rest of the Heat roster. It's on the depth, and the fringes that we are going to have to win this. We can't let guys like Haslem, Miller, and Chalmers have a big day. They're only playing 8 deep, and one of those is Joel Anthony.

Early game threads are nice. Let's hope that we have a good game 1. I want to see our guys fighting.

By the way, I could do game 2, M4E. You just have to show me how to post the girls :D

There's a chance that I can get it up, which I would do on Monday. If you don't see one on Monday, it's fair game.
