Congrats on your playoff run, really like a lot of the Pacers young players. Hope the team matches Hibbert.

If I were Bird I would draft Khris Middleton.

With the 26th pick there would be better options than Middleton. He's intriguing but Larry always goes for talent and by the time of our picking, more much talented guys may be available. Draymond Green, John Jenkins, Tony Wroten, for example.

at 26? he's projected a full round lower. if he were your dream pick, you'd try to trade back into the second round and not reach for him in the first.

Re: Anyone want to draft for the Pacers?
I like what I have read about Festus Ezeli.
At 6'11" 255 he has decent size for a center. I have read that he is ready to contribute on the defensive end in the NBA right now, however, his offensive game is still raw.
From nbadraft.net
Overall: Though he's a 22-year old senior with past injury issues, Ezeli's presence alone could make a front line more intimidating ... He has the physical attributes and toughness required for NBA centers, and while his offensive game is still being developed, he size, length and athleticism could be luxury off the bench.
I don't know what his injury issues were, but in his career at Vanderbilt he played 29, 32, 34 and 26 games Freshman-Senior years.
He sounds like exactly what the Pacers need, if healthy. A back up center with size, that will defend and rebound and can play 15-18 mpg every night. That way when Hibbert is out, we still have someone to protect that painted area.

The pacers definitely need to take advantage of the solid crop of bigs in this draft. How do u guys like Fab Melo; Leonard or Henson from UNC. They should also take a look at the Georgetown Kid Sims.

He won't be come draft time. And by the way, nbadraft.net has him going early second round. I wouldn't be surprised to see him going before our pick actually.

Re: Anyone want to draft for the Pacers?
The pacers would be smarter to get one of these centers in this draft; because they are harder to acquire. Where as they could easily make a deal to acquire a stretch 4; or any wing position. They dont need any point guards. Imagine if the Pacers are able to acquire another 7 footer like Fab Melo; who just happens to be more versatile and athletic than Hibbert. You could play them at the same time during games and make it that much harder to get a rebound or get to the rim. Also it could possibly create a dynamic Robinson/Duncan (because of both bigs ability to pass) type of front court at certain moments in the game. There are no teams capable of matching up with that type of front court. Just Imagine........(C-Hibbert, PF-West, PF/C-Melo, PF-Hansborough or PF/C-Amundson or PF-Pendergraph). That frontcourt would be BlockCity. The Pacers would all of a sudden have the potential to become the leagues most dominating rebounding team. And if you kept up with their record when they outrebounded the opponent you know what im getting at.

Watch this Vid of Melo and just imagine him and Hibbert manning the front court in crunch time for the Pacers. This would truely be SMASHMOUTH.

Re: Anyone want to draft for the Pacers?
^^^ I think we'd have to consider Melo if he is there at 26. But will he be there at 26? Tough to say.
There were a couple of sites hyping up Wroten, saying he is a freak athlete, so I'm going to look him up.

Re: Anyone want to draft for the Pacers?
^^ I'd prefer Tony Wroten over Fab Melo.
Wroten might climb up the draft board though, and Melo could be available at the 26th.
Good video, smashmouthrod. One of the best Fab Melo clips i've seen. But Melo needs a ton of work especially on the offensive end. Anyone would like his length and his physicality, and i think pairing him with Hibbert would makes sense, if we are not to keep Fes.

Re: Anyone want to draft for the Pacers?
Tony Wroten from near as I can gather from draft reports and vids has the skill set of a PG, the body of a SG, but the shooting ability of a SF. The reason why mock drafts have him rated between 20-40 is because how each measure him. The athletic ability alone will make him an outside lottery pick, but his woeful shooting is what will keep him in the lower first into 2nd round.
But Tony Wroten, Fab Melo, and Festus Ezeli are the 3 to keep an eye on. If they stay they will be worth the 26th pick, possibly even a steal at our pick. However if they climb that means someone else will fall right into the Pacers lap.
I've seen mock drafts have players in the mid second in April climb into the lottery by end of June and vice versa.
