Coach Assistant Opportunity

Post#1 » by SmashMouthRod » Sat Jun 2, 2012 7:24 pm

What do you guys think about Pat Ewing being a member of the Pacers coaching staff? I was thinking that if they lost Shaw and Ewing was still available; he would be amazing for the development of our bigs. Especially if we acquire another Forward/Center (Zeller; Melo; Henson; Ezeli) this offseason to play a backup role to Roy Hibbert.

he could teach Roy his three step hook shot. kidding aside a former NBA center would be a good addition although I think Jeff Foster has first call if he wants the job.

I think Feisty joins the front office instead.

I agree Foster might be better in the front office.
Pat Ewing, Why not? Roy is playing old school, maybe Ewing could teach him a trick or two.

Pat Ewing has definitely been putting in the work and paying his dues to get a chance at a head coaching spot. If Brian Shaw gets a head spot somewhere, as we all assume he will, I would think that Pat Ewing would be a solid addition to the staff, especially with the young big men we have.

I don't know how anyone could be mad about this. He'd probably help Roy tremendously, although we could probably use some assistant to help Vogel with some of his X's and O's.
