The Pacers have agreed to a 5 year deal with George HIll, according to a source.

I agree. I am antsy to see how much it is for and if it is a Team Option or anything on year 5.

This is great news! Now we have 4 of the 5 that started in the playoffs back for next year. Let's sign Roy and make if 5 of 5.

Once Hill and Roy are signed, we can should trade Collison for either a wing that can score off the bench or maybe a first round draft choice.

we already have a wing that could score off the bench, cheaper and younger than Barbosa - Orlando Johnson.

If DC is to be traded, i doubt it will be for a future pick, maybe a young vet because we're looking at winning now than later.

Is Orlando Johnson good enough that we can count on him to score off the bench each game? I know nothing on him outside of what I have read.

In my perfect world scenario we obviously resign hibbert, sign mayo and sign brandon roy cheap. Trade collison and hansbrough for another big. And resign lou for cheap.

hibbert/x/plumlee

That's a squad, in my opinion, that could do some work

That i really don't know either, but the reason we traded for him on draft night was because we needed some scoring, and that's what he does.

I doubt AJ Price would be re-signed to give minutes to Lance.
And i don't really know if Barbosa's could come cheap, probably the reason for bringing in Johnson.

There's simply no way to even know this. As of right now, it's all a guess. We won't know until well until the season if that's the case. If he isn't an immediate impact wing player, then we will be hurting as the season goes on.

^^ Yes, i agree. But other than scoring i cannot find any other logic of bringing in and trading for Orlando Johnson. So i am expecting him to be used as a scorer of the bench.

But if you mean we should bring in another wing like Brandon Roy or Jamal Crawford who can be had for a couple of years, then the better. It would give decent buffer time for Orlando Johnson to adjust. But i am expecting Vogel to use Johnson's capabilities of attacking the rim a lot, we don't have anyone like that in our roster.

OJ will be shocked to find that everyone is so much bigger, stronger, and faster in the NBA.

Sometimes you get lucky in the second round, hopefully this is one of those times. (Workman, Hoiberg, AD)

I'd like to see the Pacers sign Mayo if he's not too crazy expensive, I'd consider bringing back Price if we are trading Collison and Hans for a back up big man. TThis makes me wish we'd just resigned McRoberts last season, I'd say he's better than Plumlee and then we could have picked Perry Jones III and too a risk.

Eh, Plumlee and McRoberts are VASTLY different types of big men. Even if we had kept McRoberts, we likely still would have selected Plumlee for what Plumlee brings to the table.

Ultimately, I think we decided to sign Pendergraph for 1/3 the cost of McRoberts. That's the either/or.

the Lakers paid McRoberts more than we thought he was worth and given how little he played for them I think that was correct. I liked Josh a lot and thought we underutilized him but the Laker coaches sat him too so I have to admit we were probably right to sit him.

I don't think we are trading Collison or Hans. I see Plumlee as an Amundson replacement. he's really a Foster replacement of course but Amundson wound up getting Jeff's minutes. I hope we resign Fesenko or another center so Plumlee can be more of a 4 than a 5 although I sure wouldn't complain if we found the money to match Roy and bring in a Kaman or a Hawes.

Hill's a solid guy who gets double points for playing in his home state.

Up his assist totals (the Pacers are second worst in assists per team though) and the Pacers get going.

5 years 40 million is reasonable for a franchise point guard in Hill. Im ok with that contract.

I don't like this deal unless some more details come out about it having team options or something. Nash just got a deal for a little over 8 million a year and he's way better (granted, he's ring chasing a bit and taking less). Dragic is signging a deal for less than this and it looks like Lin's will be for less. You can make a case that George Hill's defense makes him potentially more valuable than these guys, but it does seem like there's more demand for their services. What would George Hill get on the open market? Why not take advantage of the restricted free agent status and let him sign with someone else then match it? I don't think this will be a "bad" contract, but he's overpaid and I'd rather have more cap space for something else.

Have any of the contract numbers been reported yet? I haven't even seen a ballpark number yet.
