Collison destination

From the ESPN rumor's page:

Wednesday spelled the end of the Jarrett Jack era in New Orleans -- he is headed to Golden State, filling a big need for the Warriors -- and that leaves Greivis Vasquez as the lone pure point guard on the Hornets' roster.

The question now turns to what New Orleans will do to address the sudden lack of depth behind Vasquez. Rookie Austin Rivers can handle the ball and could run the point in a pinch, but scoring is in his DNA and a distributor he is not.

Of the free agents that are still available, one has to believe that the Hornets could now look at Ramon Sessions, Aaron Brooks, C.J. Watson and Nate Robinson, among others.

We'll let you know when we hear of any names that New Orleans is targeting.

Could we ship Collison to the Hornets for some future pick? It seems like we could cover the backup PG minutes between Lance and a FA acquisition. Although it would be better to have whoever that target may be locked up before making a move like this. Collison back to NOH may make a lot of sense.

didn't George Hill call Collison a great point guard in his resigning speech? neither Hill nor Collison may be Deron Williams but having them both is a strength. I'm in no hurry to deal DC.

I second that.

I would've had more interest in swapping Collison for Jarret Jack.

Would you guys have done Dante cunningham for Collison? Had no idea his value had gone that low for you guys to trade for an end of the bencher guy like Ian Mahimi.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the $5.2m of outgoing salary that comes off the cap. We all knew that a backup bigman was a priority, and the market has dictated the going price for them, so keeping our flexibility while getting a long term big was pretty important.

That's a pretty significant part of it really, but if he had much value, it theoretically would have been explored on draft night.

We can now use our remaining space to hopefully address our backup PG and/or PF/SF spots.

Augustine is a tremendous downgrade for your team.
