Help me out here. Coming in late. Has it been reported that Gerald Green is leaving Nets for Pacers? If not, consider it reported.

I never trust Vecsey. lets wait for another source but he's that capable 3 I've been looking for.

I certainly wouldn't complain to see him as the backup 3, looks like we're trying to swing a deal for Augustin too. That would be a solid all around rotation for me.

Hill/Stephenson

Probably Plumlee. He's definitely quick enough or maybe Mahinmi if he's quick enough. Plumlee will be better than Hansbrough this year, not that it will be too hard to do. Just play D, rebound, and get easy buckets. Hansbrough didn't play D, didn't box out, and took every shot he possibly could with 90% of them being horrible shots. It won't take too much to be better than that.

According to Vescey, 3yr/$10 million.

Solid deal considering the market this year.

Well, with the passing on Courtney Lee and OJ Mayo, I'm guessing that Lance will backup the 2 spot, Green will backup the 3 spot (with George still getting play there).
I imagine we're still looking at a backup 1 out there, if we can't swing for Augustin.

Yup. Very cost-effective. I also like the fact that Green had to work his way back into the NBA and overcome his early mistakes. Had to get his stuff together to work it all the way back. Not too expensive.
I like Hollinger's takes though that we should max out the payments on Green and Mahinmi up front, and then do the standard 4.5% decreases each year to help the cap going forward.

Well, if we can't manage to get Augustin, there might be some issues.
I guess Watson and Calderon are still out there.

Watson wouldn't be bad. A good defender who can shoot. There is probably some others. I think the idea is to trade Hansbrough, which is the right idea.

That would be my guess. Not sure if it's enough for DJ, might need to send some pick. Then again it is Charlotte....

I hear Keith McLeod is still out there...

Nets fan here:
Congrats on signing Gerald Green, most of us Nets fans are sad to see him go. He's a nice piece off the bench, should go well with what you guys are building moving forward. Hopefully your coach (Vogel?) keeps his head on straight and keeps him focused/motivated.
I look forward to Green top10 highlights, and maybe an eventual Brooklyn/Indiana playoff matchup

Man i can't wait to see him fly with PG. I remember back in draft night 2005, Bird said that if Gerald Green is available at the 17th, he'd pick him. But someone named Danny Granger fell to the 17th and Bird did the right thing. I can see Pritchard handling the duties now, but i think he consults to Larry. Larry has a way of bringing in the guys he wanted - Darren Collison, Luther Head, George Hill, Gerald Green.
Anyways, this is awesome, especially that we got him cheaper than expected.

And potentially DJ Augustin. I remember Bird tried to get him twice before, once in a package around Brandon Rush and another package surrounding TJ Ford.

Well said.
I really wanted Gerald or Monta that night, but somehow Granger dropped. It's good to see that Green did not throw his immense talent away, plus he's still relatively young. Remember, Granger was a senior coming out of college, and Green was a senior coming out of high school. Where does that put him, around 25?
Whatever it is, all this salary we're adding seems that it could be easily moved if things don't work out.
