Nice story and all, but I don't think there's room on the roster. Reminds me of Magnum Rolle; well liked but no room.

we only have 13 on the roster so there are two spots. if the coaches think his upside is enough that they want to lock him up for down the road they have a spot at the end of the bench in a suit.

The roster stands at 13. There is still room, the issue being is that he's a project. He will be a project for years to come, and he will have little use even if we indeed sign him. I like what i saw from him during the Summer league, and if the front office feels he's a good investment, then why not.

I agree; He is definitely a project; but showed some promise during the summer league; He seems like the type of guy that could get in the game in short stretches and make a couple big plays and go back to the bench. I think of Faried when looking at him; however I dont think he's as good a rebounder. But he does exhibit the type of hustle to be considered.

I'm happy for the guy. He really improved during his time at Miami-OH. Hopefully he latches on somewhere.

Right now the only true need is a 3rd string PG, a positon likely to be fought for between Kramer and Ben Hansbrough at training camp, unless a small trade is made, likely moving Jeff Pendergraph. and his small salary.

you really think Kramer or PsychoB are close to as good as AJ? I just can't see that. either they think they can sign someone still better with some serious experience or they don't think they need to sign anyone.

They're not as good as AJ Price, and I wish we had given him more minutes. But it seems like the pacers wanted to get a summer-league player as their 3rd string point guard, because they saw promise in one of them.
If I had a choice of Kramer or PyschoB, it'd obviously be Kramer. Ben turns the ball over WAY too much, Kramer can get to the rim, and gives a lot more to the team than Ben,

I don't think we can make that assumption yet. The decision to let someone play on your summer league team is very different from the decision to give them a contract. We do know they decided not to give AJ a contract. We also know they let Kramer, a Purdue kid, and PsychoB, a Pacer's brother, show off their stuff in Orlando. It is a big stretch from there to say that the plan was to give a contract to whichever one of them did best. At this point we don't really know if they think they need a third emergency point guard. maybe they think between Lance and OJ they have that problem solved.

Project? J Bender was a project. Mavunga was a skilled 4 yr player. He will make the roster.

I agree Bender was a "bigger" project than Mavunga. But still, based on what we saw in the summer league, he is still raw. Even if we indeed end up signing him, he will need years to polish his game. Good thing he's got a better skill set than some summer league players, but again, skills are there but he needs time to develop.
