Pacers Looking For Help?

Pacers, I'm told, recently expressed some interest in Rashad McCants before former Wolves and Kings shooting guard landed deal in China

It is in the wiretap as well.

Guess we're still in the hunt for a scoring wing. But realistically though, who else can be had?

I was looking at some names, and I think these are / or can be better fit than McCants.

Michael Redd
Bill Walker
Jason Kapono
Shawne Williams

I am just not sure if these guys have signed elsewhere, but there are still better options, IMO. More expensive, but better.

You can just cross Shawne Williams off that list....

I'd love Michael Redd. Especially if we move Lance Stephenson to primary backup point guard (either now or later.)

Shawne is a definite non-starter. McCants??? who's next DeJuan Wagner?

I prefer a small trade.

I'm with Boneman2 about a small trade. Granted, he had a horrid game tonight in a rare start, but someone like Jordan Crawford intrigues me.

He can score and drives real well to the basket. He can score in bunches, and loves having the ball in his hands. He just can't have it too much, and gets a bit greedy, but if he realizes his role, i think he can be a real solid NBA player. He's still young too. I wonder what it would cost to lure him?

And if no trade, and we do need to go down to the bottom of the barrel to a sign a free agent, i'd prefer Pietrus or even Quentin Richardson over McCants. I'm glad he signed in China which eliminates him signing with us.

I forgot to mention those two guys - Pietrus and Q-Rich.

But I like Redd the most, as he's got the best experience among those guys.

And doesn't T-Mac have an opt-out clause?

In case you missed this over the weekend, but Toronto has signed Pietrus to a deal.
