there is a very nice Granger piece from Fox Sports cited in WireTap. it is also the subject of a thread on the general forum which is headed downhill fast.

Man that was such a great read. i'm really happy for our city and fans that we have a team like this. Can't wait to head down to the game tonight.

Yes, a nice read and encouraging. Maybe our version of Robinson/Duncan when the two were together. I remember everyone thought Robinson and Duncan brought too much dupilcation and that the logical move was to trade Robinson to address other weaknesses on the Spurs at the time. They clearly saw more value in having a friend and mentor for their budding franchise player. In hind sight that approach looks like a great decision. I'm not sure how the Pacers pull that off in the new economics of the NBA. But, at the very least maybe they owe it to everyone to keep Granger around to the end of his contract and see what this team can do this year and next.

If everyone appreciates the unique situation maybe all three (Granger, West and George) make enough sacrifice to keep todays core together for the longer term. That would be pretty cool. On an earlier thread I referenced a "Spurs like move" that involved moving Granger for a draft pick. Maybe the "Spurs like move" calls for keeping Granger right here as long as he's willing to stay?
