RealGM: Kings pursuing Sam Young

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Sun Jul 7, 2013 1:44 am

Per RealGM it self...

Indiana Pacers free agent Sam Young is drawing significant interest from the Sacramento Kings on a possible one-year contract, league sources told RealGM.

Young, 28, averaged 2.8 points and 2.2 rebounds last season, playing part in the Pacers’ rotation as an established wing defender.

Young, the 36th pick in the 2009 NBA draft, spent his first two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012 before signing a free agent deal with the Pacers last offseason.

I liked Sam Young. I know he has his flaws but it's hard to replace his hustle and defense.

Yup. He's an NBA player for sure. He's definitely an end of rotation kind of player, but a good vet and defender. If he's cheap enough; he's a great add in Sacramento.

He strikes me as a perfect San Antonio guy.

Good for him. He's deserving of a spot on someone's roster. Sadly, there's no point in us bringing him back to sit behind our many wings.

Yup, and no offense to him but i'm really happy he is going out West, then rather joining the Nets, Bulls or Heat, where he'd have to guard our players in meaningful games.
