The latest Espn Update has Green going instead of Granger which is much more to my liking.

Larry sure does like to keep us guessing. Again he blindsides us with an unexpected transaction. Although, about a week ago, he did tell us he was remaining active in the market. I just didn't suspect Scola even remotely.

There is speculation that KMarshall might be involved, which decreases the value of Scola. At this point the package could be:

Green/Mahimi/ 2014 2nd <---> Scola / Marshall

This is assuming Bird is comfortable with Plumlee as our b/u shot-blocking interior rebounding force.

That would be a very stupid deal for the Suns, since they would give more talent and smaller contracts for nothing.

Scola for Green, 2014 1st seems much more realistic.

Fortunately, DG is likely not the guy headed west. It would take a larger trade for DG to be involved. I hate giving away our 1st but if all goes well, it would be a late rounder thus a bit easier to stomach. The Scola/Marshall for Green/Mahimi/2nd would be a sweetheart deal to thank the Suns for if we really think The Plum is ready.

Awesome! I love waking up to this. If it is Green and a pick for Scola this could well put us in contention for first, never mind second in the conference. I have always loved Scola's offensive game, him and Granger coming off the bench would be enough to give most second units fits.

This is perfect. A dream scenario I have been thinking since we lost to Miami. We now have another legit post threat aside from West. He will do the things David West does for the second unit.

I just hope it is just Gerald Green and a future pick. Green is the odd man out in Indy, and I can see the Suns wanting a future pick, especially if it is in the loaded 2014 draft.

Trading a first would be risky, but i wouldn't be too disappointed. The Pacers see the bigger picture here.

As for Marshall.

1. Why would the Suns include him
2. If they did include him, why would that decrease Scola's value? He's a 21 year old kid, who was just a lottery pick the year prior.

I wouldn't be upset if we gave up our 2014 first but I'd ask for the Suns 2014 2nd. our first is going to be very low so even in a good draft we'd have to be lucky to get a difference maker. yes, I know we just got Solo who looks to be super but that was by going against the trends and taking an older player rather than looking for just potential. you can do that with a high second too.

few of us are looking for that. the hope is he's comeback player of the year. with Danny starting and Lance and Luis coming off the bench we could have 7 players score 1000 points and 6 is the all time record.

Making some lemonade from lemons.

It appears that moving Gerald will cost a 1st rounder (something I think all of us knew). But, getting Scola (who is essentially an expiring contract) is better than simply paying someone to take Green off our hands. I think there is some question as to how much Scola has left but, if he can still play our bench has just become a competitive advantage.

I'd probably be ok with throwing Mahamni into the deal if it returned Marshall. I really liked him last year. Not sure if the feeling now is that he can't play or if some patience could pay dividends with him? I could also see where the Pacers aren't yet completely comfortable with Plumlee backing up Hibbert and that would necessitate keeping Ian. They might also feel he could return something better than Marshall if/when Plumlee is up to the task.

This is absolutely perfect. I was very wary of the fairly unproven Copeland, and seeing the veteran PF being added behind West makes me extremely happy.

What would the full deal be? Just Green + Pick for Scola? I would hope Mahinmi isn't included because then we really don't have a backup C (Scola is only 6'9")
