East Predictions

Post#1 » by Robertchk » Wed Sep 4, 2013 3:59 pm

Major signings are over... lets take a crack at positions...

Indiana - Enough depth and experience should someone go down
Miami - Willing to give up the top spot for health
Chicago - Not enough size/scoring should Boozer or Noah get injured
Brooklyn - Deep, but old
Knicks - Inconsistent
Detroit - Run and gun
Cleveland - Lots of character players minus the starting center
Toronto - Will be fun to watch and sneak in to the playoffs

so you have Atlanta, Boston, and Milwaukee dropping out of the top 8. Boston is definitely rebuilding and I doubt anyone has them in the playoffs. Atlanta and Milwaukee let some highly paid players move on but we could see addition by subtraction.

the Heat and the Knicks both managed winning streaks that pulled them away from the field late last year. either could do it again. if the Nets are smart, they'll pace KG and Pierce as fresh legs should be more important than home court advantage for them. Pacers will need to be more consistent on the road to win the Central.

Here is the word of the lord

Indiana
Miami
Chicago
New York
Brooklyn
Washington
Atlanta
Detroit

First round matchups: Indiana vs Detroit (field day at the fieldhouse?) good matchup of front courts. Miami-Atlanta - the south teams - the most famous team and the most forgotten team. Chicago vs Washington - the Obama series. New York vs Brooklyn, the battle of the bapple.

round two: Indiana takes down Brooklyn and Chicago defeats Miami

Indiana defeats Chicago in Eastern Conference Finals

and defeat the San Antonio Spurs to win the NBA Championship.

Miami - still very talented
Chicago - go hard in the regular season
NY - depth and offense = good regular season team. Playoffs, not so much.
Indiana - generally inconsistent regular season, but IMO favorites in the East
Brooklyn - resting, old. Possibility in the playoffs though.
Detroit - talented + healthy enough
Cleveland - will be injured, but stacked.
Atlanta - they always make it in

1st round:

Miami def. Atlanta 4-0
Chicago def. Cleveland 4-1
NY def. Detroit 4-2
Indiana def. Brooklyn 4-2 (while I think NY is the worst of the East's 5, their regular season success will pay off and help them make the second round).

2nd round:

Chicago def. New York 4-1
Indiana def. Miami 4-2

ECF:

Indiana def. Chicago 4-3

FINALS (Not doing the whole West)

Spurs def. Pacers 4-2

If the Spurs avoid a collapse, don't see anyone in the West on par with them IMO.

Bulls fan, but can't see them roughing out multiple physical playoff series, unless no injuries which is not the Norm.

If Beasley plays somewhat good for the Heat the Heat are gonna be one tough team the beat in a series

I do not see the Thunder making the finals anytime soon, they have huge playoff holes and payroll issues.

The Thunder are taking a step back from what they were. But if lamb and Jackson step up then I think they could easily make the finals again

There are just certain guys in the league I dont trust in a tight series with the ball, Westbrook and Durant are two... more Westbrook though... they are just so turnover prone. ibaka is inconsistent, their system does not work for their center either...

Really you think so? In my opinion I think Durant is pretty clutch but I don't think westbrook is good in clutch neither is ibaka

i hope they make it... Durant is a personal favorite of mine, but both of them are near the top for turnovers per game every single year.
