No excuses. We were due for a disappointing/motivating loss.

Indy got punked tonight. Detroit outrebounded and out physicaled them all night. Stephenson was Indys best player tonight. Hibbert has to do more. Only 4 rebounds is unacceptable against Drummond (9) Monroe (12) and Harrellson (10). And Paul or Rasual couldnt stop Josh Smith. These are the kind of close games that they are supposed to come through in the clutch and win. Maybe the Pacers just werent locked in tonight; but Detroit is a team that concerned me before the season. They are bigger; with more length and probably more athletic. The irony here is that the last time Indy felt championship bound the Pistons came out of nowhere; hopefully it wont be deja vu.

It was disappointing, PG looked tired to me, I wonder if they trained too hard yesterday. Like Smash I am pointing the finger at Hibbert, he can do better than he did and he should. Admittedly Detroit are even bigger than us, but that should not mean we get outrebounded like that, it left us chasing the whole game.

But, it is only the first loss at home and I am not going to mope about the season too far. We are somehow all seemingly expecting HCA by winning the conference, but let's keep our feet on the ground!

we really haven't done that much all year. we've dominated the 3rd quarter often coming back from a half time deficit and then always held on in the 4th quarter, but we've lost the handful of games where we were behind or tied at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Josh Smith isn't the outside shooter he thinks he is, but when his shot is falling, he's sure a load. I can see Detroit taking the 3 or 4 seed. I remember watching us handle them last year and thinking they had nothing, but they've sure improved.

were we looking ahead to the Miami game?

I agree on the Pistons being a 3/4 seed by the way, I think when all the cars have been dealt at the end of the season, based on how the East is now, it will look a lot like this:

1/2 Pacers/Heat
3/4/5 Detroit//Nets/Atlanta
6/7/8 Wizards/Celtics/Knicks maybe Toronto, maybe Bulls

It was bound to happen this was a game that like always play like crap in the first half then turn it on it the second half but they meet a Detroit team that has been playing really well lately and just never could come back
