Raptors Fan Here

I just watched the Pacers/Raptors game tonight and I was wondering what would you guys trade Lance Stephenson to the Raptors for?

Bird really loves Lance. I don't think that he would trade him as he's pretty high on him.

And I am left with nothing but an oath that gleams like a sword
To bathe in the blood of man
Mankind..."

Lance would wilt away in Toronto, not because of the city (Toronto is a great city) but because of the track-record of the franchise in destroying careers.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Who's career did exactly get destroyed in Toronto?

I probably put it in too strong words, what I meant to say is that in recent years the franchise has a reputation of poor coaching and under-performance. If Lance were to go to Toronto he would lose the positive influence Bird and Vogel have on his character and I could see him losing his edge and turn into one of the 'what-if' stories of the NBA.

If it looked like we were going to lose Lance to FA and Derozan makes less than what Lance would fetch, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Keep in mind what Bird and Vogel can do for young players with tons of talent. I'd be happy with Ross too.

I don't think the Pacers mess with a team they think can win a championship. But, if Toronto offered up Terance Ross you would have to give that serious consideration. Two more years nn a rookie contract and after it's over he restricted rather than unrestricted. Heck after this trade Pacers might be able to bring Granger back.

I think if anything we need a point guard!! Nothing else we commit far to many turnovers and the end of the day it's gonna catch up to us

Why I think most pacers fan would take lance is because he he can do it all unlike derozan. Lance can rebound pass score defend take it to the rim. Everything that we need to be elite

I don't think we'd want to lock ourselves into Derozan if we lose out on Lance. I think we'd look more to sign Granger in the $3-5m range and better spread our money safely.

Honestly, the only interesting piece is Jonas. Or possibly Ross + something else as a fit. I think we'd prefer Ross fiscally instead of Derozan, though.

Bobcats fan here. Stephenson > Derozan in my opinion... I wouldn't trade Lance for Derozan at all if I were you guys.

I wouldn't trade Lance for DeRozen either. It's not like guys with DeRozen's skill set grow on trees but there probably aren't more than 3 or 4 guys in the whole league who bring what Lance does. Make that trade and Indiana isn't as good.

Isn't lance a UFA? Might as well overpay and get him for free if your another team.

If teams are going to do this, Indy won't be able to match more than say $12 million a year. In that case, I would be apt to trade Lance so we at least get a good wing back like Demar.

but when would you trade Lance? we need him all season long to win a championship and after the season he will be an unrestricted free agent. there just doesn't seem to be a window in which to do this. if we lose Lance, it will be to a team with cap room that has no incentive to give us a player back unless it is a sign and trade to give him even more money.

Larry has a plan I know he does he's to smart to let lance walk I don't think lance goes anywhere at all. Bird knows how much lance means to this team

Return to Indiana Pacers
