Re: Have Faith
I'm hoping we are at the end of the second act of a book/movie/play where the hero's come back from the seemingly inescapable depths of the abyss to be be the true titans to triumph over all evil.

That was April 1st... unless you're drinking barrels of kool-aid, it's hard for anyone to have faith anymore. Do you guys agree?

I have no hope this year. We may do good in the playoffs but we won't beat the heat

We can beat the Heat. They've played almost as bad as we have and have some guys playing bad who are just basically done (Battier, Lewis, etc.). Not saying we'll make it out of the East because that seems like a longshot at this point, but it's looking like the early 2000s where the WCF will be the real finals.

Pacers just played one of their worst months of basketball... not this season, in the teams history! I know the Heat are struggling too, but they can away with it because they have guys who have done it in the playoffs in Wade and James, but they have not played as poorly as us.

Re: Have Faith
I don't think they are folding. This comes with the territory of expectations. For the first time in 3 seasons, the Pacers have fielded a good basketball team however, before this season, if they won, they were this underdog trying to make a push, and if they lost, it was a learning expierence. Now, they are expected to win. They wanted home court badly. And with a few bad games, things started to crumble. They didn't become a bad basketball team in the past month.
Their mental toughness is being tested. Since entering the league, non-of these guys have had to deal with this before. LeBrun dealt with it multiple times. In Cleveland and when he first joined the Heat, remember how bad they started off? For the Pacers, this is their first mental toughness test of their careers. And, Hibbert is already a soft mental player to begin with, and probably hasn't been fully the same since we've signed Bynum.
Hopefully when the standings reset to 0-0 in a few days, the Pacers will regroup. And, if we win the title this season, for as long as we live we will look at this past month and say that was the learning expierence that we needed to get over the Heat and the west's powers to win the title.

I have faith that the Pacers will do well in the playoffs and really wouldn't be surprised if they beat the heat. Playoffs is another story, and with the vets we have, there is no space for immaturity.

Still think you win the ATL series but Hibbert looks mentally done.

Boy is that an understatement.
Nothing about his game right now I like. Even in the 2nd half. Game tied 50-50. Atlanta gets a small early lead, then Hibbert grabs an offensive rebound, but throws it away, plays crap defense and allows 2 easy points, missing 2 free throws then gets the ball on a fast break, and hits the defender like he's a running back which becomes an offensive foul. That's a 8pt swing in matter of a few minutes and allows Atlanta go on a big run.
Popeye Jones tries to give him some boost of confidence on the sidelines, and Roy slaps his hand and walks away.
Whatever he's going through I don't know if they can fix it mid-playoffs? Or is it even fixable? I don't know but he's a massive weak link on this basketball team right now.
