Putting this up a day early just because I'm not sure if I'll be around to do it tomorrow... and you know, it's the game that decides the #1 seed (likely).

Heat fan here, good luck to you guys tonight.

Hoping for a good, hard fought injury free game.

So what are the conditions for the Pacers locking up the #1 seed, obviously a win here? But what are the possibilities onward?

Our magic number for a tie - and we hold the tiebreaker - is three. if we win tonight, the number becomes one meaning one more Pacer win or Heat loss and we have the #1 seed. if we lose, the number remains at three and we only have two games remaining with Miami having three so if we win out, Miami would have to lose at least one more for us to be first. if we lose one more, they'd have to lose two more. if we lose out, Miami would have to lose out too.

^^^ good break down of the 1st seed.

I for one want the heat to slide into the 2 seed, with Wade battling injuries we need an easy round to pick it up.

I know the Pacers wanted the first seed all along, but isn't the 2nd seed more desirable?? Seems like 2 seed has an easy flight to the ECF lol.

The way I see it is that if it is meant to be our year we should beat whatever comes on our path. If we, for example, get our bogey team the Hawks than we really should beat them. If we can't get past them than it wasn't our year.

I didn't think that the Heat would go 1-3 in the last four, so I didn't think we had a shot, but the way it has been going... well, let us just agree that it is more exciting than it should have been (on both sides!)

were I the coach, I'd play zone against the Hawks so Roy can stay in the middle and its someone else's job to defend the arc.

You'd need to stop Korver, but yes, I think a zone would probably work best. Not seen us play the zone a lot this year.

If we zoned, Korver, Millsap and Antic would have field days from the top and the corners. Teague would be able to tear up the soft gooey center of the 2-3. I think our system when executed well is still the best given our personnel. The fact that we haven't really practiced the 2-3 (or any other zone) means the inherent vulnerabilities in the system would be extra-exploitable, especially against a team that has outside options. I don't want to see West having to chase guys in the corner, which is what 2-3 means. Man is better if you have size.

We can take the Hawks as is. It's a mental thing more than any other factor. Our schemes are fine, we just have to execute.

Don't want to speak too early, but the rest seems like it helped the team. It looks like they're actually trying out there.

But Roy didn't get a shot attempt in the 1st quarter, that's gotta change. He turned into Hakeem last time we played the Heat (in the first quarter), need to feed him the ball.

EDIT: Luis Scola diving on the floor...

0 rebounds in 20 minutes for 7'2 Roy Hibbert. Against the Heat of all teams. :o
