The Skinny
Image
In a game that seemed doomed from the start of the 2nd quarter, the Pacers led by Paul George put up the biggest comeback of the playoffs from down 19 to end up beating the Wizards by 3 points. The Pacers were sloppy on defense, gave the ball away far too many times (18 TOs), and allowed Al Harrington to destroy their frontcourt, but Paul George was simply too good. With 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 steals, he put up his best game of the season. The Pacers now lead the series 3 to 1 as the series travels back to Indy for game 5. Can the Pacers put the Wizards away in 5 and start preparing for the Heat? Or will the Wizards be able to prolong the series and get the momentim back?

It's time to wrap this series up and move onto the ECF against Miami. Don't want to risk this series going to 7, the Pacers need to finish it out at home.

Also sorry re: the rushed thread tonight, I didn't have much time so I couldn't put up the normal commentary for each position nor could I spend the time to resize each image.

Hibbert is taking some bad shots. Bad shots as in... too far from the basket. Let's go big fella, we need this win !!

The Wizards are turning the ball over a ton, but if we can't turn the TOs into points, they don't mean anything. The offense is struggling so far.

Too many offensive rebounds for them so far.

if we don't find a way to rebound, this will go seven. I really wanted to be resting while the Nets kept Miami playing. yuck.

Gortat slept with all the Pacers' wives, per a rumor I just heard.

The rebounding effort was absolutely embarrassing tonight. Washington thoroughly outplayed us. Our starters looked extremely tired.

We have to put this game behind us.

I am not going to watch the game, I posted the above during a 4AM toilet visit whilst checking the score... I just can't believe it, how do we go from three games of fight and spirit to a dud like this?

This has to be mental, they switched off thinking it was done. Really annoyed.

btw, thanks for the thread anyway Jake.

Our starters are playing lots of minutes (and games) in the playoffs. I think they are tired. I think more time for our reserves for game 6 is crucial. Unless our D is on point and we make some adjustments, I'm considering game 6 already a loss. :banghead:
