With PG on our team, what FA will we attract in the future?
Indiana might be a small market team and blah blah;however, there are superstars, all stars and great role players that might want to play alongside PG. With the cap situation we're looking at, what FA do you think can we get that will help us win the ring starting 2016/2017?

Well, that's not an option anyway since we're capped out long term. Unless Lance walks this summer and Roy opts out next summer and walks, we won't have the ability to spend anything over the MLE for the indefinite future.
As such, I think we're looking at over the hill kind of guys, which is fine.

2016 will be the year if any.

Depends. If Hibbert opts out after next year, and if we lose Lance this offseason, depending on what other deals we make, we'd have about $20m in cap space with only:
Hill
George
Solo Hill
West
Mahinmi
Obviously, that's not the plan, as we'd like to keep Lance, and hopefully keep Roy long-term if it all works out, but it's there.

So Hibbert will possibly approach next season as a chance to reestablish his value. Maybe Bird should preemptively trade him to avoid his imminent unrestrictive status.
I certainly believe Simon sees Lance as a valuable asset worthy of a hefty investment. Even if he doesn't this should be the vibe interpreted by other organizations. I actually think we could get a decent return for Lance.

I don't believe, personally, that we'll have a chance to perform a S&T with Lance if he wants to go elsewhere. I imagine that he'd only consider teams with cap space to sign him, as he wouldn't want to wait for the whole Lebron/Melo/etc market to fill out and then take scraps. I think we'll either be able to re-sign him, or not. Nothing in between.
As for how Simon views him? I don't think Simon cares any way about any player, so long as Bird can keep the team under the luxury tax. I think Simon wants to win, but will let Larry do whatever he wants, so long as he doesn't pay the tax and gets to keep the tax distribution payments and revenue sharing to try and turn a small profit.

At this point I think we need to try and make one more go with our core and just try and attract some ring chasing vets. If Lebron goes West I think we'd have a good shot.
One guy who could be a real help is Billups. Even if he doesn't play much at all, he could be like a Brian Shaw for the team. He's got a title and he went through a lot of crap in his career, could help guys like Hill and Lance out a lot.

Re: With PG on our team, what FA will we attract in the futu
The new c.b.a. will pay Simon 16 million additional dollars per season, so he doesn't really need the league to redistribute cash his way. Also, don't dismiss the fact that until the brawl, Simon consistently maintained a very hefty payroll that at times exceeded 100 million annual. , and was actually the highest in the league at one point.
I reiterate that much like properties, Simon views his roster as a collection of assets with varying amounts of liquidity. And if there is ever a time to dip into the luxury tax, for just 1 season, this might be it. You can't put anything past the man who gave JRose that contract.

He had his brother splitting those payrolls back then. Doubt his sister in law will do the same. And the extra $16m or so he has been getting for a couple years and he's still been mentioning avoiding the tax since then. I imagine that's necessary just to not lose money every year like he was before the new CBA.

The Pacers need a better PG yeah we can go thru another season with George Hill but we need a Jrue Holiday or Jeff Teague. Will I be surprised if we come back with the same bunch and a few tweeks? No. But I'd like to see a major move.
