What about Carlos Boozer?

He was just cut loose by the bulls via the one time Amnesty. What would it take to sign him? Say a two year deal at $2.5 million and then go ahead and drop Scola. Sham says Scola's deal is guaranteed for $900k with bonus's that aren't clear. We've been assuming that would be about $2 million to us. Would Boozer for $2.5 million be better than Luis? Or should we sit on Scola and his deal till the trade dead line for a deal with one of the teams that's over the tax line and try to snag a #1 pick.
Example:
Team A is $2 million over tax line. We trade scola to them for Player 1 who is making $5 million Plus draft pick they cut Scola, save $3 million or so, get under the tax line, we get a guy to help us in our playoff run and a pick.

I actually like the idea. Affordable player, defense is a push compared to Scilla but quicker and better on offense. Big concern is coming off the bench considering our last couple longtime starters forced to play off the bench have not been great - Danny, Scola, Turner

Contract year Carlos is more valuable than Scola, yes.
1st year of a new deal Carlos... probably not...

Not a fan of Luis at all, but I am not so sure Boozer is better. I would assume you will see him go to a team like OKC or SA for cheap.

Where would he play? I dont think he is a good fit in the Indy defense first style. Not to mention he is only a pick and roll/pop only player. He doesnt score on offense unless he is setup. Our bigs are similar. Scola and West can generate some offense probably a little better than Booz. Maybe its something you consider if a trade can be made to upgrade another positions,

IDK if we could have even offered him more than min now that I think about it. But on the 2nd part of my Idea we just hang on to Scola now until the TradeDeadline and then try to move him to one of the teams who is over the Tax Line and get a useful player and a pick if possible.
