Totally spaced it on the back-to-back game tonight, so I had to rush to get this one out. Sorry guys.
Teague is already killing us, 8 of their 15 points so far.

Sounds like Stuckey re-aggravated his sore foot, he won't return to the game.

Hill is still learning, but totally agree on Scola. I want Allen and Cope to get his minutes. Allen has played very well and has probably been one of our best players. I just want Scola gone though. Way too many mistakes, passive play, and his jumper has been awful since he's been with us.

The hibbert, Allen, an Copeland lineup is pretty effective.

You usually give a player 3 years to get it together.
We need someone who can play point guard on like a 10-day contract.
Or we can keep riding the tank train.

Hill has been playing pretty good D on Korver. Korver's only gotten 2 shots off and has made one. His offense is meh but seems to be getting better as he gets more comfortable.
I think we got kind of spoiled in the first game by Sloan going up against Wroten. He's been bad since that game. Just took that dumb iso jumper with Antic on him.

Cope with 4 3s this game. Loving his game this year.
Just think... If Vogel would have actually utilized him in the past...

I swear... Did Denari really just ask Kellogg what his perfect 10 of candy bars would be? And then they proceeded to have a discussion about their favorite candy bars... Hersheys, paydays, and almondjoys.

Does Copeland deserve to start and do you see him starting over Cj Miles in the foreseeable future?

Start is such a relative thing. Cope has earned a good amount of minutes, as Vogel stated post game. However, Vogel and the staff like Cope coming in with the second unit as a fit/speed thing. Either way, for your fantasy team, he'll get a ton of run that he'll be worth having. 3's heavy. Not much else.

Scola needs to play like he does in the international game. He needs to be in the low post, or slashing to the bucket from the elbows, not shooting jumpers at the top of the key. He CAN play a similary STYLE to West, but he shouldn't.

I don't understand why Scola seems to be playing the Robin role to nobody's Batman. He should look to score more and be assertive on both ends. Scoot is right, in the international game, he is one of the best and that's what we need him to do now. On Solomon Hill, I am quickly losing my patience on him. He's kinda good defensively but then again, he doesn't look to score or create.
I agree on Allen and Copeland. We should give major burn to these two guys if nobody wants to step up.

In this game at least, I thought Hill was alright. He played good D on Korver in the first half and actually hit some open 3s. As he continues to start, maybe we'll see him grow. Remember, this is really his rookie season, he played almost no minutes last year.
Who knows, maybe PG's injury was the best thing that ever happened to Solo, just as Granger's injury was the best for PG.

Late to react, I did watch the game live (couldn't sleep).
Firstly: didn't expect anything of the game, so just a review of the players.
Biggest clanger on the court was Sloan, took some really poor decisions and it cost us time and time again. He was glued to the ball too often and didn't manage to set up creative plays. Not even looking at the box-score, for all I care he scored 30 points, he was the reason we lost.
Miles: couldn't really cope with the pressure of being the first scorer. I don't blame him, he has never been one before. Did feel he shot himself out of the game at times and he too made some dubious decisions offensively. Could leave defending Korver to Hill a lot of the time but didn't seem to use that freedom too well. Seemed quite static to me. Still, in a full roster I think he is our SG for the rest of the season.
S.Hill: Encouraging to see the lad blossom up a bit. He seems to become a bit more comfortable with his role and the pressure associated with it. Did a great job neutralising Korver, not an easy task. I was actually quite impressed at times. Still don't think he is a starter or will develop into one, but perhaps he could be a defensive utility player.
Scola: Too up and down. That is all really, one moment he is beasting and I love his game, the next he is hiding like a girl in the corner. He should be the leader (vocally) of this team as he is incredibly experienced, but I don't see it. I have seen some FIBA games and I was a massive fan of him in the past, but the thought that we gave up Plumlee for him is increasingly frustrating me.
Roy: Roy was Roy, and that was good to see. Altering shots, patrolling the paint, too slow to get out to Antic (to be expected). He seems to have shaken whatever it was that affected him at the end of last season off.
Stuckey: Get well soon son, we need you.
Copeland: He was EVERYWHERE. Some incredible threes (shooting over 50% hell yeah!) great hustle. Didn't stand a chance when defending Millsap, but for some reason the Hawks never really went to him inside (really bad coaching imo). Loved his game yesterday, he oozed authority and confidence - sometimes it looks daft what he does, but it seems to work. We would have scored less than 70 without him on the court.
Lavoy: The more I see him, the more I want him to be the first big off the bench. He hustles for rebounds and is a presence inside next to Roy. His top of the key pick'n pop shot is money. I do think he needs to become more assertive offensively though, if he is the first big of the bench he needs to be a valid scoring option in the second unit.
Rudez: Son, how do you go from hitting 3/4 one night to not even managing to get into a position to shoot for 10 minutes? I realise he is still in the transition period from Euro ball to NBA, but he seems too slow to guard his position, to cumbersome to do anything other than shoot threes and generally just doesn't look great. Not sure why we got him when we already have Cope on the roster, he doesn't add anything.
Mahinmi: I thought he looked shakey defensively too often. As that should be his bread and butter coming off the bench for us, that was not a good sign. Having said that, he frequently had Antic as his cover and I think even more than Roy, Ian is unhappy about leaving the paint.
Performance of the night: Teague. The guy is lethal, such an underrated guard in this league.

At this point I just want him gone. He's done that maybe 3 times since we got him. Perhaps that's on Vogel and the staff, but either way, he's hurt us time and time again. And him not playing in the post does not excuse how lackadaisical he plays on the other end.
I've honestly started to think that he was one of our main problems last year. He's a black hole on offense and sucks on defense and doesn't try half the time. I'm fine with him not being a good player anymore, but I can't excuse not trying.
My ultimate worry is that Allen doesn't see any minutes once West gets back. Allen has earned minutes, Scola has not.
