I was hoping for AJ Price as he knows the system, but I trust our talent evaluators.

Sloan likely knows the system a lot better now and he's been horrendous outside of the one Philly game without MCW. I'm sure Price would be just as bad if not worse. At least Mekel has some upside. He'll probably be nothing special, but there's a small chance he could be a difference maker.

Ten day contract? Fine, let's see what he brings.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Espn says we might get a hardship waiver to add a sixteeth player.

Good pick-up and if he gets minutes (which he'll probably will), you're going to like him. Solid point guard that can run the offense and defend a bit. His only weakness really was his jump shot although it has improved considerably.

Basically you're looking at a poor man's Terrell Brandon with an inconsistent J.

So with this hardship exception, do we have 16 on the roster permanently or just until guys heal up? (I'm not as familiar with this part of the CBA)

Sloan really looking pretty good tonight, but with Stuckey out we cant have Hill playing backup pg when we are already low on wings.

Just until an independent doctor asserts that the injured guys are healthy enough to reasonably return. This also means that we believe that West, Hill, and Watson will all miss at least two weeks (a 4th player is required to be injured long term; in this case, Paul George, obviously). However, before any can return, we'd either have to waive Mekel or someone else to get to 15.

Now, I have little faith in Mekel. Barea looked completely done over the last 3-4 years, but Dallas waived Mekel with 2 years of guaranteed money to ride with JJ instead. That doesn't bode well.
