February Predictions

Looks to be a tough month for the Pacers

Feb 4 Detroit
Feb 6 Cleveland
Feb 8 @ Charlotte
Feb 9 San Antonio
Feb 11 @ New Orleans
Feb 20 @ Philadelphia
Feb 22 vs. Golden State
Feb 24 @ OKC
Feb 27 Cleveland

All those teams are fighting for the playoffs, with exception of Philly. I see one, maybe two wins, which would put us at 19-39 entering March. There's a decent chance we will be riding a 6 game losing streak into All-Star break, could that be enough to get our front office to make a move for the future?

L Feb 4 Detroit
L Feb 6 Cleveland
W Feb 8 @ Charlotte
L Feb 9 San Antonio
L Feb 11 @ New Orleans
W Feb 20 @ Philadelphia
L Feb 22 vs. Golden State
L Feb 24 @ OKC
L Feb 27 Cleveland

The only reason I have Charlotte as a W is because I don't like how they dealt with Lance.

I think we only win 2 games but we beat the Pistons at home. Don't see us winning on the road even in Charlotte. I also see West, Stuckey, and Copeland traded at before the deadline.

I hope you are right, even with PG-13 back next year I don't think we have enough firepower to make a run at a title. Try to flip West for a first round pick or Reggie Jackson and use our pick in trade for a veteran looking for a change of scenery or hopefully grab D'Angelo Russell.

Why would you trade West for a 1st if the plan is to then trade your 1st for a veteran?

West has 1 maybe 2 years of decent productivity left on his legs, so his window is closing and we might as well get out of him what we can because were aren't winning a championship this year or next. Using our first round pick for a "veteran" doesn't mean grabbing someone who has been in the league for 8 years, but likely only 3 or 4 and could mature along with PG13. Also I don't think we can have two lumbering big men in the front court and compete for an NBA championship.

If our first round pick ends up being a top 8 pick or so, I'm not trading it. I think this draft coming up is little deeper then normal NBA drafts and I'm hanging onto the pick. Now if you want to make the case that we trade West and we get a 1st rounder in that deal and want to trade that pick for a veteran type guy then that's fine. But I'm not trading our first round pick forsure if its in the top 8

So far we are 4-1 this month and i expect us to win at least one more aganst Philly, that would give us a 22-36 record, with only a few games out of a playoff spot and with PG13 about to make his return. Besides that the team is playing pretty good lately, i just might see us sneak into the playoffs. Not good for our draft pick, but it's good keeping the winning culture, but do we really have a chance against Atlanta or Cleveland ?

Don't see a trade thread anywhere but what would you guys want in a trade for Soloman Hill?

as of right now in my opinion I wouldn't want to trade him. I would like to see him play out his contract to see if he further develops.

Well I'm eating crow right now. If PG13 is ready to go, get him out on the court and let's give the Cavs or Hawks heck in the first round.

Hard to say. He's one of our only guys that can play the SF position, and our only guy on a rookie contract. Really hard to trade him unless we get overpaid. I don't see a Detroit deal as you wouldn't be willing to trade any thing in the salary matching range that would intrigue us. Or your pick.

Well I was completely wrong, I was thinking 2-7, but happily eating crow now as we speak. I doubt many people would have predicted a 7-2 month. Granted, we benefited from the absence of some of our opponents best players, but we too are playing without our best player.
