Goran Dragic
With the Pacers making a push for the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs since G. Hill has been back would it be a wise move to send our pick to the Suns for him or wait and try to go after him this off season?

Re: Goran Dragic
No way we trade our #1 in 2015. I saw the story about the Suns wanting to balance their roster which means they are looking for a big PF or to improve at Center. I've been told that Hibbert is a bad fit in Phoenix, IDK he's a bit slow and they seem to like to run.
Some kind of deal based on Hibbert for Dragic is interesting but they'd have to give us 3-4 guys to make the salary work.
Without a 3rd team a dragic trade is just not working for us.

We don't have the salary cap to keep him.

Re: Goran Dragic
New story is that the Suns are looking to move long term salary (i.e. Thomas and not Dragic) so with that in mind:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pz9kw95
Raps get an experienced big (Scola), and a young asset (Bullock) that the Suns don't really need since they're more into Archie Goodwin
Phoenix gets a bot of expiring money (Copeland) and a big that plays both forward positions and spreads the floor who fits very well and is on a reasonable deal (Patterson)
Pacers get a back court scorer that could conceivably play alongside George Hill (Thomas) and get a little further from the tax as well so they could use a trade exception to add a small deal
I think Thomas is a tad overpaid, but not horribly so, and the team could use a guy that can handle and penetrate. He's like Stuckey, but quicker and from what I've seen a bit smarter decision maker as well...
Happy to hear feedback, and what type of picks you think would have to change hands for this one.

I love to watch IT play on offense. I hate seeing him on D. not the right sort of player for the Pacers imo.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

I can't imagine that Toronto would have any interest in that. They really like Patterson and Bullock is still a disappointment.
I'd do expirings for Thomas. Nothing more.
And ultimately, our 1st is just a starting point for Dragoc. It's not enough by itself.

Trade David West and filler to get Dragic and Faried, since Denver is rumored to want to trade him.

I really don't know what the Suns are looking for as far as position of players they need. If we were to move West and Copeland to Raptor's for Ross, fillers, and 1st maybe we could send Ross and better of this years 1st, which would probably be ours, if we lose West. Then send Ross and 1st to the Suns for Dragic. I know some fillers would have to be added. This way we would have a chance to resign Dragic in the off season. Raptors probably won't give that for West though.

Building off of a post above:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jwba4bv
Pacers get Dragic and Plumlee from Suns
Denver gets Watson and S Hill from Pacers along with $750K (to pay Watson's buyout) and at least 1 2nd round pick
Phoenix gets Faried, Copeland's expiring contract and gains $5mill in cap room which all-but insures that they can place the top bids in the buy-out marketplace this weekend
Phoenix also saves Green for another trade
I don't know if I'd be willing to put a 1st round pick in that though (from Pacers to PHX)...

No way we get Goran. It's just a pipe dream. We don't have the assets an the pacers aren't willing to spend anymore to resign him next summer this team will stay pat for the next season too where we are gonna still have an even older West..

Re: Goran Dragic
I'm a Dragic fan, but no way do I want to pay him even close to a max deal plus give up assets to do so and then relegate George Hill back to a spot up shooter again.
