Where do you guys feel the seating is going to fall, a lot of people on our forums feel you'll go 4-1 to end the season and thus pose us the biggest threat.

My homerism see's us stay at 7 and the 8th be between you and celtics.

This is a crazy race and I'd love to hear what you guys think?

The way our season has gone, we could win 5 in a row, or lose 5 in a row. I think this year we're very quiet, and prepared to wait to see results.

a reminder on magic numbers. add the team's wins to the other team's losses and subtract the result from 82 if the first team has the tie breaker or 83 if it does not. Pacers' magic numbers are now greater than the number of games left which means we no longer control our own destiny.

It seems as you will need to have 38 wins to make the playoffs.
Brooklyn will only need to 2/3 to make it
Boston will need to 3/3 and also have the tie-breaker over Indiana
Miami needs to 3/2
Indiana needs a 4/1 run and seems to be on the outside now
Charlotte needs to win all of their 5 remaining games to get i think they are out.

Boston wins tonight to stay up a game on the Pacers. We are going to beat the Knicks. The Pistons were just eliminated tonight, too. Looks like Brooklyn will lose to the Hawks.

As such, Charlotte is almost eliminated. They're going to be 2 games back of the 8 spot, with only 4 games left for them to play.

Ultimately, 4 teams will end up being within 1 game of each other for the last 2 spots in the playoffs. Going to be a crazy week.

we really cost ourselves a lot when we lost to Boston and Brooklyn that weekend. have to wonder why they waited until after that disaster to bring PG back. perhaps he wasn't quite ready. perhaps they wanted his first game back to be at home. whatever the reason an emotional boost for those games might have made a big difference. as it is now, I like our chance in the lottery better than our chances of making the playoffs.

8) Brooklyn 36-42

9) Indiana 35-43
10) Miami 35-43
11) Charlotte 33-45

Remaining schedules :

Boston
Apr 10 @ Cavaliers
Apr 12 Cavaliers
Apr 14 Raptors
Apr 15 @ Bucks

Brooklyn
Apr 10 Wizards
Apr 12 @ Bucks
Apr 13 Bulls
Apr 15 Magic

Indiana
Apr 10 @ Pistons

Apr 14 Wizards

Predictions :

Boston wins 2, Brooklyn wins 3, Indiana wins 2, Miami wins 3

7) Brooklyn 39-43
8) Boston 38-44
9) Miami 38-44
10 Indiana 37-44

I hope for a different scenario, but when i look at the remaining schedules i just don't see the Pacers making the Playoffs.

Pacers can't lose anymore, it's do or die right now.

Word here in Cleveland is that with the #2 wrapped up, Lebron is going to rest the next two games against Boston.

Is it just me or does PG's defensive instincts look sharper then before?

It's not great here. Brooklyn and Boston are in the 7 and 8 spot, both 1 game up on Indy. However, both have the tiebreaker over Indy. Miami is 2 games out of the playoffs, but they hold tiebreakers over both Brooklyn and Miami, but not over Indy. Indy only holds a tiebreaker over Miami.

Theoretically, if Milwaukee loses out, Indy wins out, and they end up tied, Indy would push Milwaukee out of the playoffs.

And here's the race for the last three spots.

6. Bucks 39-40 --
7. Celtics 37-42 2
8. Nets 37-42 2
9. Pacers 36-43 3
10. Heat 35-44 4
11. Hornets 32-46 6

sounds like you are saying we have tiebreaker over Bucks and I think we have one over Hornets too which means they can't catch us. if I have that right the magic numbers for each team to finish ahead of us are:

Bucks 1
Celtics 2
Nets 2
Heat 5

perhaps it is more conventional to show the magic number for us to finish ahead of each of them. they are

Bucks 6
Celtics 5
Nets 5
Heat 2

bottom line, we need to win out and have either the Celts or Nets lose twice or the Bucks to lose thrice. if we lose even one more, we need Celts or Nets to lose out. all seem unlikely. Scoot, time to think about starting a sticky draft thread.

We do have the tiebreaker over Milwaukee, yes.

Charlotte has been eliminated from the playoff race at this point.

Milwaukee also plays both Brooklyn and Boston, so there are some ways to make up some ground for us. If Milwaukee beats either of the two, they clinch, but that would also give us a gain of one game on either of Brooklyn or Boston, so I'm not writing it off completely, yet. Close, but not yet.

yes, Charlotte is now out. heard Dakich on the radio Friday and he said he wouldn't name his source but that he's been told WCS is flakey and not a good draft target. I don't think we need to be in the lottery to get someone who can help us.

Unrelated to you Wizop, but since you mentioned Dakich. I got to listen to a whole Dakich show live for the first time on Monday, as I stayed in Indy an extra day over the Easter weekend for my goddaughter's baptism. I'm shocked at how poor his show is. He's merely an attitude, and he offered one or two loud, angry views about things that really didn't matter, and demanded agreement from his guests (Kravitz, Doyel, etc). It made for very poor radio. I'm also not completely sold on his "sources", either. When he talks BASKETBALL, gameplans, and whatnot, he's gold. He's amazingly intelligent on the topic. I just can't understand how he'd be so dense, and could so egregiously commit the capital sin of sports or talk radio: be boring on air. It was just a very poor radio show. Maybe it was just Monday, but I was shocked.

But, would I feel a bit more comfortable in the lottery being able to take a Stanley Johnson or Sam Dekker as opposed to being in the playoffs and getting Devin Booker? Yeah, I would. In fact, I'd go elsewhere and hope for a Jerian Grant or Frank Kaminsky. There is talent throughout this draft, lottery or not, I would agree, though.

Miami has lost, and is essentially done for. Once any two teams of Indy, Brooklyn, and Boston have each won a game, Miami will be eliminated.

If we win out, and Brooklyn and Boston both beat Milwaukee, this will be a dynamite end of year finish.

Cleveland is resting James, Irving and Love. Boston will win is almost there, while we are almost out.

Boston won and bucks beat nets. We can't catch bucks and Celts only need one. Slimmer and slimmer.
