Game 82: Pacers vs. Grizzlies

It all comes down to this. If the Pacers win tonight, they make the playoffs. If they lose.... then it depends on what happens in Nets-Magic.
A season for the history books comes down to one final game tonight. Gotta have a game thread.
In the Blue and Gold corner:
The Indiana Pacers Starting Lineup (I'm not doing pictures, I don't have the time.)
George Hill
CJ Miles
Solomon Hill
David West
Roy Hibbert
Pacers bench:
PAUL GEORGE
Rodney Stuckey
Luis Scola
Ian Mahinmi
Pacers are playing for their life. By halftime, they'll know if the Nets have won or lost their game against the Magic. So expect a balls-to-the-wall, playoffs-or-die attitude in the first half, and then either the same thing or a completely different thing in the second half.
Grizzlies starting lineup:
Beno Udrih
Courtney Lee
Jeff Green
Zach Randolph
Marc Gasol
Grizzlies bench:
Jordan Adams
Vince Carter
JaMychal Green
Kosta Koufos
Grizzlies' playoff seeding could land anywhere, and it's generally better to be higher, and these guys aren't going to give in easy. Conley and Allen are both out but this team will fight and give it their all.
The NBA Regular Season concludes tonight! Teams will be eliminated from the playoffs, and the streams of time will be inexorably altered.
Godspeed, you Pacers! Grab a great victory in your final game of what was expected to be a lost season! Show the doubters and the haters and the knaves and fools that they know not of what they speak!
Oh and lest I forget
Tradition!

Nick Calathes look like that 52 year old at the local Y. Somebody tell that kid to shave the beard, or something.

Well, down 10 with 10 minutes to go, and Paul George was just carried off the court, as he couldn't put any weight on his left leg. Remember, it was his right leg that he broke. Still, not looking good.

Paul George carried to locker room, but reported as "sore left calf" and merely "questionable to return".
Also, George Hill has gone to the locker room as well.

PG13 has a lot of heart to come back and try to play for the Pacers in-spite of everything that happened last summer. I hope the injury is not serious.

I was hoping the magic could take the w against the nets and help Indiana taking a playoff spot, i really hate the nets, good luck next year pacers fans. Hopefully PG13 has no big injury this time again

Bitter blow, but leaving it until the last game was always tough. The Nets don't stand a chance I don't think, not that we would have nailed it guaranteed, but I feel we'd match the Hawks better. Shame you couldn't do it Magic, still think your future is bright though.
Next year we might well square up in the play-offs, wouldn't that be nice!

long before Paul was carried off, it was obvious that his tank was empty. I said Tuesday night that I didn't think he was ready for back to back games and actually you could see he didn't have much left Tuesday after the weekend games. he tried though and everyone tried with him. I really think our March swoon came when the guys realized Paul had been optimistic when he said he'd be back then. Just having him dress brought a lot of emotional energy but Memphis on the road is a tough task when we are at our best.

This season did end up in many ways a moral victory, though. After last year's second-half collapse, and the locker room issues and all, and Lance leaving, and PG getting hurt, this season showed that the Pacers are still a team. George Hill took a step in his leadership. Solomon Hill got lots of experience. Stuckey was a gem. CJ Miles looks like a bargain now on that deal we signed him to. Hibbert was solid. Scola resurrected hiself. Even Rudez was a 3-point assassin in the last half of the season. And Paul George came back to remind the fans that next year... next year is going to be great.
We'll have (probably) the 11th or 12th pick (we gotta toss a coin with Utah). We might get Kaminsky there. That would be nice.
Paers will be back with a vengeance next season! 2016 NBA CHAMPS!!!!!

Strained left calf. As of right now, they're not even planning on getting an MRI, so that's good news.

Not entirely surprising that he hurt the leg he was favoring so much. Wasn't ready for a back to back, especially not the second game after a 2OT game.
In any case, the Pacers made me proud this year. It's a huge moral victory, and though, imo, we're clearly superior to the Nets with PG back, a lottery pick is nice too. In all likelihood, Atlanta against us is a 4 game sweep.

At least that's good news. He'll have the offseason to recover some more and should be ready to play ball by the time October pops back up again.
