2nd half collapse!

Post#1 » by basketballwacko2 » Wed May 27, 2015 3:10 am

Ok now everyone was talking about the Pacers 2nd half collapse but wow, look at Toronto and now the Hawks!! At least we took Miami to the game 6 and if not for the Refs blatant support of King James we might have won that series. The Hawks just folded like a cheap lawn chair as did the Raps after getting whooped by the Bullets errr I mean Wizards, I hate that name!

Any how why no talk about these guys falling on their face? They'll blame the injury bug in Atlanta. Too bad I wanted to see the Hawks in the finals, but it comes down to I think the Pacers could have done better against a banged up Cavs team. 8-)

It is really hard to win in the playoffs once you reach the level that you thought was your goal. Perhaps the Hawks were happy to get to the conference finals and if so they were in trouble before the first tip off.

2nd half collapse!

In fairness, Atlanta had more blatant injuries to deal with - Korver knocked out early in the series, Carroll played but was limited because of his knee, Horford sprained a finger (plus got a BS ejection in game 3) and Millsap had a bad shoulder.

Also, no one talked about Atlanta's regular season stumble, in my opinion, because of the history of the franchise. Fair or not, I don't think Atlanta was widely really considered true contenders like Indy was last year. Plus Atlanta never fell out of first like we did briefly a couple times last year.

As for Toronto, I think kind of the same thing. Although I don't know if I've ever seen a 3-seed lay an egg that bad in the playoffs. That was oogly.

ATL did have injuries but by this point everyone is banged up, look at the Cavs, no Kevin Love, Irving missed most of 3 games, carroll came back and played and the hawks did get guys stepping up for Korver. Horford did throw an elbow at Delavadova. For that matter how about that flying knee to Klay Thompson's head, or that forearm smash by Howard to Iggy in the game last night?

I may be biased cause I'm a pacer fan but if the 12-13 or 13-14 pacers were in this years playoffs I say we would make it all the way to the finals this year.

That's what I was thinking and I go one better I think we would have done better than Toronto and at least as good as the Hawks with the team we had at the end of this season. I know we wouldn't have gotten swept.

I think a healthy Pacers this year would have made some noise.
