My post-draft lineup

My two favorite players are Trey Lyles and Frank Kaminsky.
I'd draft Kaminsky because it is nearly impossible to find a center that skilled. It would be easier to add an athletic PF later.
Kaminsky is not another slow Hibbert or Hansbrough. He is more of a Brad Miller. For those who doubt his defense, watch film of him dominating Purdue's Hammonds in their second matchup. Kaminsky is also the main reason Wisconsin beat the super Wildcats in the big dance.

In the second round, I'd take Ryan Boatright. He was better than Napier by far, and played lights out for the championship game. He is small, but he is quick and has a has a surprising wingspan. He is smart, tough, and he can shoot.

PG - Ryan Boatright
SG - George Hill
SF- Paul George
PF - Lavoy Allen
C- Frank Kaminsky

All of our positions 1-3 can shoot and defend. Four out of five starters would be plus defenders, and Kaminsky can certainly hold his own. Also, four out of five starters can score.
Lavoy Allen has been played out of position at C, and he would be a great stop gap PF.
I am getting tired of one way players who have no offensive feel at all. Especially the bigs. Mahinmi and Soloman Hill are great defenders, but complete liabilities on the other end. Allen fits this category as well, but he is very smart on the offensive end, and would eventually be a great backup. Also, I think this run and gun stuff with Paul George at the PF is nuts.

So, you're going old-school 1990's style play with positions, and you're benching CJ MIles for Boatright, David West for Lavoy Allen, and Roy Hibbert for Kaminsky?

I have no issues with Kaminsky. If they took him, I wouldn't be worried. Not an overly exciting pick, but pretty safe. As for Boatright? Maybe. He's tiny. TINY, and has a ridiculously short wingspan, so it's not like he makes up for it with length. It's hard to project him as he tried to do too much offensively at UCONN at times, but he's also very careless with the ball as a PG. The weird thing about him is that for all his defensive lauds, the advanced stats show that he the team wasn't much worse, if at all, with him on the bench. The PG position at UCONN apparently has been defended relatively similarly no matter who's in there.

But again, if we drafted Boatright in the 2nd? Eh. I wouldn't argue. I wouldn't be excited either. He's very likely to be an undrafted kind of guy.

I think Myles Turner will out-produce Kaminsky in the NBA. Kaminsky also has a short wingspan and a low shot release point. He's just asking to be blocked in the NBA.

Our second rounder will probably end up D-League for much of the season. Not starting.

I don't care for Kaminsky or Boatright. If we draft either of them, I will feel we could have done better in the draft. We all agree a 1 and a stretch 4 are what we need. I think we can do a lot better than either of these players to fill those gaps.
