In his interview with Indystar that I quoted in the "How do the Pacers pick" thread, Bird said that the medical staff judgement is probably the one voice he listens to most.

I wonder if that changes if we do the rumored trade with the Hawks and WCS drops to 15.

Doyel called in to Kent Sterling radio show and said he read Pritchard as saying we could take someone who other teams had medical issues with or someone who hadn't worked out for us and that Doyle put those thoughts together and came up with WCS being our target.

Sounds to me like if Turner is there at 11 we should either take him or call Boston about a trade down for their picks 16, 28 and 33.

You mean the one where we get Shroeder? I think that's a false rumor.

All I saw of the rumor, it said that there were discussions but nothing mentioned Schroeder other than people on here. I'm sure we've had talks with most teams in the top 20 about trading picks, but that was the only one that was rumored at least.

Schroeder was NEVER mentioned as part of that. It's a true rumor, but more of what most teams do pre draft; get a lay of the land in case you have to make a deal on the clock.

If WCS drops to 11 and Bird truly believes he's a future super star, they'd be absolutely nuts not to draft him. Maybe him having some injury concerns can help the Pacers because if he was fully healthy, no way he'd drop that much?

Stay true to your board and if the Pacers love him and have a chance to select him, they need to do it.

I hate it, but I am really feeling we're drafting Trey Lyles. I don't know.

There are 40 to 50 "what if" deals out there right now. "If my guy isn't there at our pick and your guy is we'll pull the trigger on the trade." That's why there are so many pick deals during the draft. Both teams are waiting to see who's there. I'm guessing that the Pacers have a few deals laid out with other teams to move back (maybe even up?), or out. It should be a fun watch tonight!

I don't hate it. He's kind of a multi talented guy that does a little of everything. It's much easier to reload around guys like that than to have highly specialized players like Myles Turner.

Trey is a more athletic David West. I would be fine with the pick...but would obviously prefer it at 15.

I don't think there are that many guys in this draft with bigger upside than Trey. I'd be fine with taking him at 11.

as Pritchard said at the presser, when you trade down you let the other teams make your pick. he also said they had four targets. say you have four targets and they are all there at 11, does that mean you should trade down to 14 figuring you still would get one of the four? I think the Pacer's position is no, you should take your top choice rather than let three other teams decide who to leave on the table for you.

I've been on Lyles from the beginning. my only question at this point is where will the guards go. I think we need to work things to get a 4 and a 1 and I hope we work the draft so that we get both and they are both tier two players.
