Very happy. Thought we'd have to get higher pick to get him.

Yep, very happy about that pick and it makes the Turner pick little better now. Really good scorer is Young.

I would've preferred Christian Wood, I think he's a freak. But Young should be fun to watch.

Young is a nice pick in the 2nd round. We need a back up PG and even a 3rd one. Must say I'm glad the draft is over and we won't be seeing all the speculation about us trading the 11 for Derozen and such.

I'm happy about the Young pick as well. We needed a back-up PG and a scorer off the bench and he covers both of these needs.

Christian Wood wasn't drafted. If we're interested we can still bring him in as an UDFA.

Young is a nice addition for the bench. I see him being like a young (no pun) Stuckey. Good with the ball, true scorer, not as physical but with a better shot.

We need to send that young man an invite to training camp.

His highlight reels look great. He reminds me a little of younger George Hill in the videos. I can see why they liked him. I like that he appears to be able to create his own shot. The question is now will they give him a real opportunity to crack the rotation or will they sign a meaningless vet to take all the minutes that he could play.

Meaningless vet? I think signing a vet that could allow Young to come along at his own pace wouldn't be meaningless. Sloan would work for me. I want someone who can be the second unit point until about the all star break but won't get bent out of shape when he becomes the emergency point guard when Young is ready. Now it is possible that a resigned Stuckey may make that unnecessary because he's enough of a point guard to cover up Young's transision from two to one but I think a roster needs three active point guards to cover injuries and foul trouble.

Good pick for the Pacers in the second round. Legit scorer who's not afraid to shoot, just what our second unit needs. I was torn between him and Hanlan for our pick in the 2nd round in my mock draft, I just thought he'd get drafted earlier than Hanlan.

Never really saw him play live, but with the videos I've seen, he could have the same role and output as Patty Mills. Young's even taller and more athletic than Mills. I too think we'll need Donald Sloan to be the second PG until Young is ready. But I can already imagine him being with Geoge Hill at the 2, CJ Miles and Paul George on the forward spots, giving Myles Turner reliable shooters from deep if he needs to kick the ball out.

Man maybe I'm just drinking my grandmama's sweet extra sugar cherry kool aid straight from the pitcher, but he looks quick, confident, and NBA ready, at least to me. He goes up for mid range jumpers with the confidence needed to get through cold streaks. His hops are underrated as well so I hope he can get a chance on the fast break haha.

He looks fantastic. Reminds me a bit of Celtics Isiah Thomas (whom I love). Great fg% and lights out from The line as well. An exciting pick for sure!

The team may as well go with the youth movement. With the departure of West this team is no longer a contender. Besides Vogel has proven since his arrival that he is great when it comes to developing young guys. If this kid can really play he should be on the floor at least a little early. Im all for trading Hibbert for a young talent player as well. Hopefully Frank plays Lavoy, Turner, Solo, George and Young as much as they can handle. Im ready to see these guys up to speed as fast as possible.

West was not the key to wins versus losses last year, GHill was. If we can stay healthy, we'll be fine. No reason to blow this team up. and besides PG, who have we developed?

what franchise is your model for building by discarding players in their prime? where has it worked. I'd rather be like the Spurs than the Sixers. actually, I'd rather be like the Pacers. except for the brawl, we've been a playoff team for 20 years.

Indiana is not close to the Spurs if were talking success. And this team wasnt a playoff team for a spell before Frank took over. Its easy to forget that. Who have we developed? Well for starters Hibbert. Under Vogel's training he became one of the best (if not the best) rim protectors in the game (without fouling). He also made an all-star appearance despite not being that great of a player overall. Frank also brought a level of bravado to the team that made a bad team (with Jim O'Brien) begin to believe they were great. Paul George developed under Vogel's watch. Stephenson became great under Vogel's watch. He wasnt close to the same player in Charlotte. George Hill is being used out of his norm as a starting point guard and has continued to grow under Frank. McBob was a guy that didnt play anywhere before he was in Indiana under Frank. Vogel also was able to get good minutes out of a guy that cant even get a job in the NBA anymore since his departure ie. (Sam Young). Obviously there have been others who were or werent so successful under him (similar to any coach). But he has proven an ability to get the best out of young guys. On another note West meant more to this team than Hill ever did. If you take away West a lot of the success this team enjoyed the last couple years wouldnt have happened. Paul George and Stephenson grew up around Wests steady consistent play. Hill has been erratic for the most part as a Pacer leading to many critics and fans (including myself) to feel that his spot shouldve been upgraded for years. A player like Jarrett Jack who is cheaper could give Indy similar (maybe even better) production. The teams win percentage wasnt much different when Watson started vs when Hill started. I will go as far as to say that George Hill is overrated and overpaid. His defense is pretty good but Paul still spent plenty of time guarding point guards like Teague, Rose and other guys that Hill can supposedly defend.
