Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
Apparently we're allergic to bigs.
I think depending on the order we make the moves in, I would guess it leaves us to 10 million or so.

Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
Big that we get to keep Stuckey. Have him being the 6th man just like past season. I agree that I would assume Scola comes back as well. Just being able to trade Hibbert is allowing us to keep some good depth. I know might take a year till we are maybe back into NBA title contention, but this team this year coming up might be exciting to watch.

Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
Resigning Scola wouldn't add enough, we need all the capspace we have now to sign at least one starting big, not sure Scola is the answer (although he did pretty good last year) but then I am not sure what the answer is at all anymore...
Having said that, this deal makes a lot of sense and I am happy Stuckey is staying put.

Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
I like it, but in some senses I don't like it. I love Stuckey, but I assumed he was gone with Ellis coming. It must mean he's the backup PG basically. I guess the idea is to really change the dynamic and play small a lot and possibly hope we can land a good big next offseason with our cap space.
Mostly I guess it just sucks that there's no good options for real PFs out there right now. And also squashes the idea of us getting David Lee.

Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
Great Move. Now lets take make a trade for a young talented four that can bring this small ball to life. Jeff Green or Terrence Jones preferably. This team would have potential to be pretty good right away with a guy like Jeff Green assuming Indy doesnt give up too much. I would offer Miles or Solo and a pick.
Hill/Stuckey
Ellis/Young
George/Miles
??/Solo or Lavoy matchup Based
Turner/Lavoy or Ian

Re: Pacers resign Rodney stuckey
Strong 5 Line-up:
PG = G. Hill / Young
SG = Ellis / Stuckey
SF = George / Miles / Rudez
PF = Allen / S. Hill
C = Turner / Mahinmi / Whittington
This is a good backcourt of combo guards, not to mention most of our wings can play SG too. Looks like we are really trying to do a "position-less" basketball team, and the starting five could be variable all year round depending on the match-up. I think we are kind of thin at the PF spot though and would love to see a legit big man as assurance in case we need to bang bodies up front. Maybe someone like Brandon Bass, Jason Smith, or Cole Aldrich. Someone with a body mature enough to be counted upon, and can play PF/C.
Back to Stuckey, this is a very good signing. Looks exciting indeed.

Nice move. Our bench looks pretty scary for next season assuming they can somehow fill in that 4-5 spot.

I think this means we expect to play PAul George at the 4 a fair bit.

My only fear is what happens when they play a team like the Spurs or Houston or Memphis? How is PG or lavoy gonna stand a chance against their big men?

This is why we need a legit big, IMO. Mahinmi and Turner would get the burn defending the other bigs but Myles really isn't ready for it yet. It showed in his first summer league game against Justin Reed.
With this need, I don't expect another stretch 4 like Bargnani to be added into the roster as Whittington can be a stretch 4/5. Should be wider, stronger like Mahinmi.
