Pacers vs. Clippers

Been pumped for this game the last couple days. Here's some pregame nuggets:

-No CP3, out with a rib injury.

-Clippers are on a 3 game win streak while the Pacers have won their last 5.

-Indiana is on the road and favored by 2! Who'd have ever thought that going into the season (although the CP3 injury is a large reason why).

-Lavoy Allen is starting at the 4 tonight to matchup with Blake Griffin

Prediction: Pacers win 106-99

This is the Lance I sometimes miss. Probably one of his best games as a Clipper so far.

George Hill looks awful tonight. Rodney has been fun to watch, he's playing like a madman out there. PG on his way to another pretty statline (although his shooting % isn't that great).

Always enjoy watching Clippers broadcasts. Ralph Lawler and Michael Smith are the best in the NBA imo. They always seem so knowledgeable about each opponent.

I'd hate to be a Clippers fan and put up with watching Jamal Crawford. He has way too much free reign out there.

Pacers D has been awesome, especially against Griffin. Active hands, challenging every shot, helpside...really impressed with our guys commitment on that end.

103-91. Great win, looks like we could possibly sweep this west coast trip considering the recent news with Gobert.

Clippers jerseys/logo somehow keep getting worse for me. Usually you can adjust to a new style...but not this. It's flat out boring and I can't believe how bad they screwed it up.

That was an important win. Our players should be proud of themselves :)

Great win and really good to see Lance play well. He still has a place in my heart despite all the antics. No, because of all the antics ;)

I have speculated on a Lance Stephenson return to the Pacers because we are probably the only team that recognizes his true value and could probably get him cheap. But what would we do with another combo guard?

I still love that kid. I wonder if next season after he's been dumped by the Clips if we might bring him back for vet min or a little more.

We just have so little playing time available at the 2 or 3 spot.

cap goes way up. Solo will be gone. Bud's contract will be up too. we can find a spot for him at a salary he won't find insulting.

Personally, I think we dodged a bullet when Lance moved on. The key to small ball is ball movement and the ability of guys to shoot from distance. The ball tends to stop when Lance touches it and we don't need another guy (in addition to Stuckey and Ellis) who isn't respected as a long range shooter. No matter how cheap I just don't see the fit anymore.

Even though I appreciated Lance's time here, I completely agree. He doesnt fit at all with Monta and Stuckey, and I think his personality wears on teammates who have to be around him day in and day out. Not saying he was/is a bad teammate, but he just has an attitude thay could get on anyones nerves.

Speaking of Stuckey and Ellis, I was a lil worried how itd work out with both of them on the court together...but its been ok. They definitely help push the pace but itd help if Stuckey was hittin the 3 ball like last year. His shot from deep looks ugly, maybe last year was a fluke.

While Lance started here, his key role was second unit point guard. That role is still open. I'd be very happy with Lance and Stuckey as a second unit back court in a ten man rotation. I also think he'd be just fine starting with Ellis or GHill when the other one was injured. Not sure though that he'd be happy with the money appropriate to that role although the coming higher cap could change everything.

I thought CJ Watson was the 2nd unit pg? The last half season Lance was here it didn't look to me like he and George Hill worked all that well together. I thought a contributing factor to George Hill's resurgence last year was not having to figure out how to play with Lance.

Lance imploded after leaving the Pacers, I think there's a reason for that. I'd bring him back at $1.5 million 2 yrs give him a chance to be the backup point guard.

While the ball was in his hands a lot when he was here, particularly that last half season, I don't think he was ever a point guard nor has he been employed in that capacity since.
