Lance Stephenson: Yay or nay?

It's been reported by Yahoo and others that the Clippers are activily shopping Lance Stephenson. Crazier things have happened, so i wouldn't say there is no chance of a Pacers reunion. Things sure did go well when he was here though minus that whole Hibbert thing, although who really knows what was true in that whole drama?

So, the question is, would you want Lance back in Indy or no? Lets hear it...

"There is not much of a market for them," one NBA executive said. "They are buyout candidates. Maybe Lance goes back to Indiana, you never know. You won't get back much for them."

I don't see it. The Pacers are very much a team chemistry organization to me. Not to mention the glut of wings we have right now

I'd offer lance and vet min contract next summer maybe he can get his mojo back playing with PG again. There is no way we can trade for him making $9 million this season. If the clips were to buy him out and we had a roster spot which we don't I would be ok with giving him a shot. I think Lance got a bad rap and leaving the Pacers ruined his career. I've always liked his versatility being that he could be the back up point, sg and sf if needed.

I love Lance when he plays in service of the team. He showed in the Clips-Indy game that he can still play really good basketball, I also have the impression now that he wanted to show us (Indy fans) in particular that he still has game because he felt this trade-talk coming.

It is easy to write him off after he failed in Charlotte and is now seemingly failing in LA, but let's not forget he was very, very serviceable when he was here. If he is bought out I'd happily sign him to a 2m/TO contract.

Interesting question. I don't see how things would work with Lance, Stuckey and Momte all getting meaningful minutes. Even with the assumption that all three were in the right place mentally, you still have three guys who need the ball, aren't that good without it, don't shoot weel from range and aren't great defenders. That's a lot of weakness for the rest of the team to cover. At a minimum I think either Ellis or Stuckey would have to go. Probably Stuckey. Lance would have to buy into Stuckey's current role and he'd have to know that he needed to defer to PG, Ellis and George Hill. Has Lance fallen far enough to buy into those conditions?

I will admit that subbing Lance for Stuckey (a trade the Clips might like) would represent an upgrade in physical talent. And, to contend Pacers more talent than they have now. Not sure if Lance will ever grow up enough to make the risk worth the reward.

I agree with a lot that has been said here with the reminder that he was a much more solid defender here than he has been the last few years.

Still like his game and attitude and hope he finds the right opportunity somewhere. Probably next year for less money as has been said. But look at Orlando to see what happens when you got too many guys with unreliable jumpshots.

I speculated in the GB that Memphis would be a good possible fit.

I loved Lance. One of my favorite players and stories of all time.

But he made possibly one of the worst decisions of his career by leaving. And at this point, I don't see a role for him.

If we didn't have Ellis and Stuckey I'd be fine with it, but there's really no room for another guard who can't shoot threes.
