Rubio rumor

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Mon Feb 15, 2016 5:48 pm

Has anyone seen it? According to Fred Kerber of the NY Post, he says we're in talks to acquire Ricky Rubio. Doesn't state much more then that.

Thoughts?

I saw that MN was shopping him. I'm very okay with trading for a point guard as long as we keep all 5 starters. I am dead set against the notion that we need to move GHill for a true point guard. we're a much worse team without the home town hero.

Rubio is very injury prone. I like the fact he is a true PG, pass first. Will create for the team but no thanks due to health history. Well not for G Hill anyway.

I've not heard this, but it doesn't really fit with Bird's obsession of using score-first combo guards at the point. And at shooting guard.

In fact, we're lucky he's more moderate with it than Jeff Hornacek was.

I knew Rubio had issues shooting, but i didnt know he was this bad. Got this from the MillerTime podcast guys twitter -

Ricky Rubio has never shot over 40% from 2-point range. Only 9 players in shot clock era have more under-40% seasons

Uh, no

Ricky isn't injury prone, his first one (ACL) was a beat against Kobe's knee and the second one (ankle) was a bad jump over the defender foot. I'm watching him since he was 16 and I can't remember another injury. He can play 82 games of a RS.

He is such a terrible shooter, though a good defender, and great passer. If he could hit a shot at even Jamaal Tinsley levels, he'd be an asset. As he's a worse shooter than Tinsley, he's really hard to build a team around, as he can relatively be ignored on offense.
