Let's assume the Pacers finalize the deal to sign Aaron Brooks. And also assume we don't make any other moves. What do you think our rotation will look like come opening night?

My guess-

PG- Teague / Brooks / Young
SG- Ellis / Stuckey
SF- George / Miles / Robinson III / Niang
PF- Young / Allen / Evans
C- Turner / Jefferson

I see Niang at four. There should be a third five: Allen or Christmas.

Teague (32)/ Brooks (16)
Ellis (28) / Stuckey (20)
George (35) / Miles (13)
Young (30) / Niang (10) / Turner (8)
Turner (23) / Jefferson (25)

That's my guess

Niang is incapable of guarding NBA threes, he will be our joker 4.

Teague/Ellis/Young
Larry Bird suddenly seeing the light, going back in time and getting us a good shooting guard player/Stuckey
PG/Miles/3
Young/Allen/Evans/Niang
Turner/Jefferson/Christmas

PG = Teague / J. Young / Brooks
SG = Ellis / Stuckey
SF = George / Miles / Robinson
PF = T. Young / Allen / Evans / Niang
C = Turner / Jefferson / Christmas

I think most, if not all, of these guys are capable of playing multiple positions. Robinson can play 2, so is CJ Miles if we need to get bigger. Jefferson can play 4 if we need to free up Turner, Niang can play 3 at times depending on the matchup, so is Evans. Also, all our guards are capable of bringing up the ball and playing 2. It has so much flexibility.

Also, just noticed. Joe Young's number in the Pacers website is now number 3.

Good eyes.

I wonder what number Brooks will ask for? If i recall, he's only been 0 in his entire career including college besides one time as #3 with Sac Kings.

Teague/Young (still believe he beats out Brooks)/Brooks
Ellis/Stuckey
George/Miles/GR III (he may beat out Miles because of his defense)
Young/Turner/ Niang
Turner/Jefferson/ Allen

In terms of who makes the roster?

Teague/Brooks/Young
Ellis/Stuckey
George/Miles/GR3
Young/Allen/Niang
Turner/Jefferson/Christmas

I doubt Evans makes the roster, and if he does, it likely means that Niang doesn't. I think we'll end up signing another veteran wing to compete at the 2/3, and I think that Christmas and Whittington are competing for a spot, but that Whittington is waived, ultimately.

As for Evans, remember, he's still recuperating for a torn labrum in his shoulder late last year, and likely isn't going to be ready until AFTER the season opener. No training camp for him. I just highly doubt that he even has a decent chance to make the roster.

if it were football, Evans would start the year on the PUP list. if they do sign a wing, it wouldn't surprise me if they lose Evans and keep Christmas. but if not, I can see all 15 making the roster.
